I don't know what's funnier..

USM has a total athletic budget of $27 million.
Tennessee is at half a billion.

USM's baseball stadium is nicer and can sell out.
Tennessee's can't sell out.

Tennessee won't feed their players, but it's USM's fault.

Oh and we bribed the NCAA...

So how trashy are we, we stoop to the level of trashiness of our opponents.

They started by trolling a fanbase on their twitter account that had never said shite to them. That should give you an idea.

And y’all trolled their player by posting links to his sister’s only fans account. I’d call it a push

USM’s budget is less than Tennessee’s profit from the AD. That’s crazy

Their stadium is not nicer by any metric. None. And it’s easy to sell something in Hattiesburg, what else can they do in town?

I’m sorry but if you win a legit bid to host you need to have more catering options than chuckey cheese.

Bride? No, sold a sob story about hosting one more time as a departing coach to a sympathetic audience. Especially after the other tiny school gave their host rights to TCU.

But it’s all good, after today they only time most of the team will be back is in 9 months to dispute paternity claims.

Hattiesburg is a great very underrated town, I personally know several very wealthy people from mobile that decided to retire there. You are like an hour and change from everything from New Orleans to Biloxi to Mobile to Jackson to Montgomery to Baton Rouge to etc. they have good school system particularly in west hattiesburg and a lot to offer and some really nice subdivisions.

USM is a former teachers college but has a good accounting program and a few others. The fans are typically LSU football fans too because they hate ole miss etc. they are a little bit more redneck than some of the SEC schools but they are generally good people and easy to hang with

You do realize that if Tennessee wins today, you don't get to have the CWS in Knoxville either right?

And it's Bribe, you know to pay off as some of you said, not Bride like part of a wedding.. frick most of y'all can't spell or have good English, and you expected to host in that POS stadium...

Has much more to do with location than a hatred of Ole Miss.

Baton Rouge and Tuscaloosa are closer to the Pine Belt and Coast than Starkville and much closer than Ole Miss.

Also, the Coast, which puts a ton of kids at USM, has a lot of Louisiana heritage which leads to kids like me growing up as LSU fans but going to USM because it's closer and in state.

How dare you. Southern Miss fans are some of the most diehard LSU fans I’ve ever seen.

Starkville and Tuscaloosa are literally and hour and a half away from each other. Oxford to Tuscaloosa is a good 50 miles closer than Hattiesburg

ETA. I read the post wrong and you are correct other than Starkville is closer to both the Pine Belt and the Coast

Depending on where you actually are, mileage may be about the same but driving distance is usually shorter.

At worst, it's about equal.

Gulfport to Starkville is 4 hours, 4 minutes, 254 miles

Gulfport to Tuscaloosa is 3 hours, 53 minutes, 253 miles

Hattiesburg to Starkville is 2 hours, 50 minutes, 181 miles

Hattiesburg to Tuscaloosa is 2 hours, 40 minutes, 180 miles

Hour from the beach

Good seafood

Main drawback is a smallish baseball park, but it's commensurate with a midmajor athletic school, so I'll allow it
