Which I don't get. We go from 2-10 to hiring Freeze. After hiring Freeze we go 6-6, 7-5, 8-4, 9-3, and now 5-7. Also, we went to two NY6 Bowls during his tenure. Freeze has been great for us and Ole Miss fans just can't handle having a little bit of success and then it falling off.

He also doesnt determine the scheme. 90% of our plays are RPO's. When an OL doesnt have the freedom to block more than 3 yards down field or doesnt even know its a run play he isnt going to be as good a run blocker as those who do. We have also had poor talent in the backfield and on the OL. The next three years will finally shut those fricks up because we actually have the talent now.

Not to hijack this thread, but what % of the fanbase makes up the Scout/247/Rivals boards?

What % of actual difference makers go to those sites?

Difference makers as in the people who make the decisions? Eh, I know the biggest booster at OM and he doesnt go to half the games so some dont give a shite, but you have to believe that the fans who care enough to come to the games, to voice their opinions, those fans would pay $100 a year to have some in-depth knowledge of the program. You have to have a little obsession in you to give and support a program like OM and obsessed people get on pay sites.

I had several Scout subscriptions , back when I gambled too much. It was a cheap way to get info, if you learned to sift through the BS and blowhards.

I kept the Spirit 'cause Mrs. Cane likes to follow OM and she reads it now and then.

It's just tough to read at times. They bitch about the powder blues, the NCAA, Rosebowl, play calling, Mike Bianco, etc. Basically everything they can bitch about, they bitch about.

Mrs. Cane is a good woman if she can sit through and read all of that mess!

Baseball season is truly deplorable. Typical football fans thinking that you should just play harder than your opponent

Baseball doesn't really work that way, dear

The information coming out of the Ole Miss insiders has been hot garbage on a number of different things. Don't know if the staff or the boosters lie to the reporters or if the reporters lie to the fans or if Freeze just keep all the media in the dark. But it seems like during the Freeze era, the Ole Miss 'insiders' have a pretty poor track record.

This is the absolute worst time for OM to go looking for a OC. Bama, LSU, Oregon, hell even Houston now with Kiffen will all get who they want first. Then OM will get the scraps. There is an 80% chance it will be an easy underwhelming hire

It's certainly a Seller's market. We'll see who the shrewd buyers are and who the drunken sailor's are

You are using general things that are vague and complicated to paint a specific individual thing.

I said OM let Werner go because he didnt recruit and lost his ability to add a recruiter to the staff to recruit for him.

So if that is not the reason do you think the reason is because he was a bad OC? Our offense with Chad the past two years was #1 in the SEC. We have been in the top half of the league since he was our OC. He has done well everywhere hes been.

So its one of three things. Either Freeze fired him for what I said, because he didnt think he was a good enough OC, or some unknown other reason, and you lean towards the unknown reason because OM insiders were wrong about the NCAA investigation. Do you see how that doesnt make sense when its all spelled out for you?

100% is what Im hearing. But we knew we had him before we fired Dan so overall, Freeze at least believes this move improves the team. This isnt an Orgeron situation where you fired Cut before having a coach and end up with shite.

Completely agree. I think the OM athletic admin has been lying to their media folks.

Hey Doc,

A few weeks ago I posted in a thread, responding to you, and said that none of the OM folks I know were panicking and that a certain firm here in Central MS was pretty smug about the whole deal.

Well, there's just the slightest , diaphanous layer of sweat on some upper lips this afternoon. Just speculating

Since the Tunsil tweets OM media havent said anything that has been wrong other than they think this thing will be over soon. McCready thinks they get hit hard, most others think they will get a little more scholarships reduced than what they imposed, some coaches get suspended, and probably no bowl ban. The latter is all assumption and hasnt been proven wrong, yet. Before the Tunsil tweets there were two things they were wrong about. Correct me where Im wrong.

1. The penalty in the original NOA. The AD used some nice wording to make it seem like the punishment would not affect football. This wording was...

A. The majority of the penalties do not have to do with football. Well 13 of 28 is the minority, so while misleading, not a lie.

B. Only 3 of the allegations have to do with Freeze's staff. If you only look at level 1 allegations (everyone gets level 2's and 3's every year), 4 have to do with Freeze's staff and one of which they are fighting because its based on someone being a booster simply because they had season tickets in 2009.

2. The investigation is over. It was over until the Tunsil tweets came out and that is why they received the original NOA when they did. They would not have sent it if it werent over. Its not lying unless they are suppose to predict the future.

Some OM media believed that they would get on the August COI docket and then the October and then the December meaning it would all be over 60 days after the COI hearing. Other than that I dont know what they have been saying that is lying so please inform me.

Some are estimating that the scholarship reductions will be between 13-18 and all admit there is a possibility while unlikely of a bowl ban. They all infer that that is their assumption and not what the admin is telling them. So once again, I dont get why this narrative gets talked about so much. Well yeah I do, but I wish people werent the way they are.
