Yep, Werner had Neal shaken up.

Why do state fans think Neal is like the others? He seems to get more attention than anyone else who covers OM.

Its actually coming from 247 so the only one throwing out speculation is you. Its also makes some sort of sense. Why fire him now unless you have your replacement.

Agreed that it makes sense. It's the only thing that does.

We'll all know soon enough. CHF would certainly have his new man in place before this big recruiting week-end

Because he was just on Jackson radio at lunch. Then the "CHF already has his man" posts began

as well as Barney Farrar. Freeze cleaning house.

Firing Werner is stupid he developed the landsharks. Nkemdicke ,Conner and others that made up the land-sharks were all on 4 year contracts. Ole Miss will have a lot more money available for recruiting this year and recruiting will pick up.

Then why the hell was he fired?

He had a waiver in place that allowed us to add a recruiter only member to the staff to recruit for him. Him getting married voided the waiver so he got rid of him because he is an OC who wouldnt recruit.

He was recruiting just last week WITH Hugh Freeze. And he damn sure hosted recruits while on campus when the real sales job is done.

The reality is that , as of now, Bama, LSU, and Ole Miss are all in the market for OCs.

It will be entertaining to read the spin on who got the best guy and why

Who do you think would pull the best, out of those three?

Well hell, Auburn needs to be in the market for an OC with the rest of us.

I asked why state fans think Neal is like the others. How does that answer this? And I dont have a scout account, but 247 posted at 12:30 that Freeze had his guy while Neal has yet to say on his board Freeze has his guy even though common sense would suggest he does. But once again, say Neal did say Freeze had his guy, why does that make him like the homers who cover state and OM? Why is he such a lighting bolt to yall?

The guy who recruited for him was put on administrated leave a few weeks ago and was fired today with Werner. So he may have gone on the road a little here recently but he did not want to be a 365 day recruiter. And yes he talks to recruits when on campus and always has. His deal is he doesnt go on the road and with his waiver lifted we would have one less coach on the road recruiting thus why hes gone. Why is this so difficult for yall to beleive?

Freeze is gonna get some position coach trying to make his bones as the OC. The optics at OM aren't very good right now, so I doubt they snag a good OC from another program.

I wonder what the hell CHF is selling recruits right now, today?

I wouldn't refer to him as a lightening rod.

But, I would feel a lot better quoting Neal than I would Chuck,Ben, Yancey, or David Johnson.

Neal was literally just on the air when I referred to him . I haven't seen or heard from the others, other than Yancey's typical inane blubbering

Well we arent doing well so its not working, but he's telling them if it is worse than they expect then he will give them their release.

So a recruit has a choice, go to the school he wants and if its bad he can leave or go to the school he likes second who wont release them back to OM if the sanctions arent as bad as the people who are recruiting against OM are saying. OM has incentive to suggest the sanctions will be light and other programs have incentive to exaggerate the punishments. So OM is giving them a choice that other schools will not if they are wrong.

For instance Myles Brennan is being told that OM is getting a 4 year bowl ban which is ridiculous. OM is telling recruits the worst that will come down is 18-20 scholarships and a 1 year ban. If it is worse than that we will release you to any school you desire. Seems fair to me but Im bias.

This may come back to bite them in the arse unless he was paid handsomely to just go away. (Not that the NCAA needs any more dirt)
