And take a 3rd straight loss to State?!
This will happen anyways, so might as well take the risk.

I think they will surprise some people this year and will win one of Bama, LSU and Arky.
Ole Miss has a better chance of beating Auburn than any of those three teams.

I wouldn't be so sure… Nutt has LSU and Arky's number they play them close every year.. hell as bad as OM was last year they had a chance against both LSU and Arky.
Sometimes talent alone does not depict the outcome of a game.. emotion plays a huge role and OM always gets up for those two games.

Nutt doesn't have the flagship docked by any means. Last year's game was ugly. I do agree with you on LSU though

Rinse, repeat: Mullen frustrated with ‘pathetic’ offense
STARKVILLE — So much for improving with every practice.
Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen, for the third straight day in camp, voiced frustration and disappointment with his team. Today he focused all his energy on the offense.
“That was probably as bad as an offensive practice we’ve had since my first year here,” Mullen said. “Just laziness, no crispness at all.”
Really?
“Well, since that first season,” Mullen said. “I don’t know if we can be as bad as we were Day 1.”
Mullen went on to say the offensive performance in the morning practice was “pathetic.” His words today were the strongest used in his frustration with the offense or defense. The Bulldogs took Sunday off and were treated to a team meal, and apparently didn’t respond with much enthusiasm today at practice. The result: a third consecutive day of camp with a frustrated coach.
A few more notes to tide you over until you pick up a copy of The Clarion-Ledger:
As expected, freshman running back Josh Robinson was cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center this morning, Mullen confirmed.
Apparently Clemson transfer linebacker Brandon Maye hasn’t been impressive in practices. Well, at least in the irked vocabulary of Mullen this morning: “He’s got a long way to go to get a spot, to get playing time.”
Well it sounds like everything is going smoothly for state and the state posters who said their linebacker play would be fine with this stud from Clemson coming in were right as usual.

So a 4 year starter in the ACC is having trouble cracking the 1st team? How is this a problem? If I wanted to cherry-pick your argument, I would say that he's having trouble because the guys in front of him are just better than he is.

Do we need to pull up all the "Masoli only looked good against crappy Pac-10 teams" threads?
Not to mention you lost all your starting LB'ers from last year. One would think he would actually step up to 1st team fairly easily.

It's a GOOD thing he's not stepping up to the 1st team easily. That means that our other LB's are doing their jobs.

my point is actually the hypocrisy of MSU fans who talked shite about Masoli this time last year saying he only looked good against Pac-10 defenses. And now your AA 4-year starter LB who got salivated over by the MSU fan base isn't living up to the hype so far.
ETA: and no where in that article does it give any props to the other LB'ers on the team. One would think that Mullen would actually complement them if they were as good as you're trying to spin this.

well, I'm not seeing hypocrisy now that we have the results- Masoli was a turnover machine that got outplayed by Relf overall.
Considering how he performed, Masoli was overrated

I'm not trying to spin anything. I'm just pointing out that assumptions based on incomplete information are stupid.

This post.....disproves the whole "Coonass knows football" argument.

fair enough. And I'm not considering him a bust. I'm just pointing out the obvious humor in this from an OM viewpoint.
