He panicked and/or got really bad advice. The Golding hire was a panic move for sure. He wasn’t a serious HC anywhere. Think about that for a second.

It's more of Ole Miss loss than Lane he's been in that environment before with Bama. LSU has 3 titles and played for 4 since 2000. No comparison to ole miss, their dumbass AD should have let him finish

Ole Miss will still be in the playoffs, Kiffin will watch the team that he just left compete while not being guaranteed another shot at a national title.
No way any respectable program lets a coach leave for a rival and still coach in the post season. What a joke.

I agree. While I think LSU and Lane should have waited till after the playoffs to announce Lane to BR…the AD let his ego control the situation
And sacrifice an entire transfer portal/recruiting period? That’d be very dumb

Kiffin was a God on Ole Miss campus. He was above the AD and president there and everyone knew it. Will the LSU higher ups allow that?

Lane is a classic narcissist (and a sociopath) who thinks that his personal brand is bigger than any other (UT, USC, Oakland, OM). His pattern of behavior has always been to look out for Lane. The spectacle of quietly agreeing to a new job with an in conference rival, while holding out to "make a decision" hoping that OM let him coach in the playoffs (and other positions were filled) was nothing more than another example.
I truly believe that Lane sees himself as the victim.
