i'm saying it's rumor. what does he have to gain by trashtalking a recruit from an area he's gonna be recruiting and did sign a player from? You're gonna hear people say anything false about Nutt b/c they are angry and jealous he's at Ole Miss and in a posistion to whup them.
Of course he allows felons on the team. coaches have to if they want to compete with the other coaches that have them. Petrino has at least 1 felon, Zhamal thomas. I'd bet at least one of those other jucos that blew out of their original programs are felons. And I bet he recruited others.

from what I have read Zhamal thomas went to a JUCO and earned the right to get another chance. I am sure if he messes up in the least bit he will be gone from our team as well. Petrino unlike Nutt believes in second chances but not 3rd and 4th and will not keep a player on his team that commits crimes no matter how good they are. To say all those people that put this out there about Nutt are all lying is wrong. He was the one that ever season told us this was good as it was gonna get all the while him and his agent were throwing his name out there for every opening in college football. He used other programs to get more money time and time again from us. Funny thing is he never made the kinda money he makes no at Ole Miss because he never deserved it. So maybe he and Ole Miss are truly meant for each other since he accomplished more or as much there in one season as he did in 20 with us.
I also hate to tell you that Petrino has recruited the best group of players to have set foot up at the University of Arkansas in a long long time. The SEC is competitive but I think we will be good fairly soon and ready to make some noise in the SEC.

OM is losing three schollies for a year due to APR (thanks Coach Zero); plus, we have about 4-5 greyshirts from last year's class who will prolly be getting a scholly beginning next year. So, we only have about 17-18 new slots available for this year.
Anticipating a good season with a lot of media attention, my guess is that HDN will slow-play this class and wait until later in the season, hoping to get the highest quality for the limited number of slots he has.

Man OM wins 8 games and suddenly they are the cream of the SEC. For a school historically known for chocking dont you guys think you should wait till after the season before even comparing yourself to LSU or Bama.

I thought Ole Miss would try to jump on the in state talent early but it looks like Mullen is winning the in state recruiting battle at this point.

Bulldogs will beat OM, Mullen is the worst thing to happen to OM.

Eric Smiley committed to Ole miss so it's not like he was burning bridges there.
Eric Smiley went where they would take him...EVERYONE knew his grades were not going to cut it, hence no offer from Petrino.
Additionally where are you guys getting this 'slow play' bullshite....Nutt and Co have just as many offers out there as any other school atm. And the dude on the mailbag forum yesterday said 'expect OM to sign 28'...wtf!

Once again, Arkansas Cardinal fans are more obsessed with their former coach than their current one....
And I hope you aren't calling us Confederates as a put down.......Considering how Arkansas was on the same side and all.

If you've ever seen a picture of that so-called cardinal, it makes you wonder why we weren't originally called war eagles.

I'm not sure why anyone would be excited about any commits right now. These kids flip flop so much every year, a commit in July doesn't mean a thing. Until you get a signature in February (and even then it can be suspect), there's no sense in patting yourself on the back.
I'm sure as hell happy about Alabama's strong start. Strong starts in the summers of 2007 and 2008 led to top ranked classes. We're on a faster pace than we were then. Sure, some kids fly under the radar, and some have subpar senior seasons, but the background work and camp performances give a pretty good indication as to what these guys do. I wouldn't question Saban, Meyer, Miles, or any other top coach on their reasons for piling up the commits early, or the talent and ability of those kids.

Rank Team Commits Points
Tier 1
2. Alabama 18 SEC 2763
4. Florida 15 SEC 2309
7. LSU 15 SEC 2048
Tier 2
8. Georgia 12 SEC 1975
15. Tennessee 12 SEC 1394
Tier 3
21. South Carolina 12 SEC 960
25. Auburn 8 SEC 854
39. Vanderbilt 12 SEC 512
Tier 4
47. Arkansas 6 SEC 367
64. Mississippi State 5 SEC 222
Tier 5
t77. Mississippi 2 SEC 88
83. Kentucky 2 SEC 72
Looks like 5 tiers of recruiting success based on total points. How anyone can be in tier 5 and be "right where they want to" like some of the OM fans claim is beyond me. I will take tier 1 and the chance you may lose a kid late to him changing his mind. It's not like half your early commits defect.

Here's a video of an Arkansas Cardinals 1909, 100 yr. old pennant. I'm still looking for a photo. The colors are definitely interesting...similar to LSU. I'm confused as to the reason for these colors, since cardinal red became the school color in 1895. (last link indicates this)
There's also something of interest for LSU and Arkansas fans on this page:

Refer to paragraph #5 under:
Old Main and UA Traditions
This is interesting...and LSU played a supporting role in our transition to become known as the Razorbacks.

that is cool. I knew about most of that stuff and have seen the original school buildings in Cane Hill or what is left of them. Was mainly interested in the Cardinal Pic. Looks more like an eagle than a cardinal?

And before Saben came you were a team known for swallowing. The 80's werent good to ya but he 90's y'all put on a show. How many winning seasons? Wasn't one a 2 win season? That alabama coach saved ya and maybe our ark coach can help us out a bit.

The best humor always has an element or truth to it. That's what pisses the Confederates off so much.
What pisses us off so much is your unimaginative, tired, boring, worthless, slope headed, slack jawed blathering about a coach you no longer need worry about, yet you continue your incessant droning and bitching and pissing and temper tantrums like a god damned 2 year old who's daddy just jerked that cock flavored lolly pop out of your worthless, pathetic mouth.

It's probably better to not sell yourself short or try to convince yourself that getting 4 and 5 star players doesnt matter. Can you be competitive without the big time recruits? Yes. However, to win national championships you have to have them. Thats what got tubby out of auburn. If he were pulling in top 5 recruiting classes, he would still be there. Nut is always gonna field a good, well coached team, but ole miss is not the place you can go and win it all. Unless Nut turns ole miss into a recruiting power of the likes of LSU, UF, or Bama, Ole miss will be hanging around 7-5, 8-4, or 9-3 just about every year. As good as you think you will be this year, I think you go 9-3, and 10-2 if everything goes right with an easy schedule and a once in a decade quaterback. That might win the west this year.

I was gonna throw my opinion in there. But after reading through this and finding that HawgAlude and WRT are the only ones really posting Ive decided not to waste my time.
