Firing Luke was a bad idea, imo.

That whole team was REALLY young.

Prepare to lose the good players to the transfer portal now.

So give him another year and fire him then?

If Scruffy paid attention he would know this has been happening all season long

I don't really like the precedent of firing a guy after his 2nd full year. Yeah, I know interim in 2017, but I'm not sure that counts when deciding to terminate a guy. Ole Miss may have stepped into a shite pile on this one.

We might have stepped into a shite pile? You think we’re going to hire someone worse than Matt Luke?

We appreciate your concern but I think we’ll be just fine

Then they will lose even more.

Just seems real premature with a real young team.

Lots of booster didn’t like the fact the kid that fake pisses on the field got to carry the NWO belt right after and played the next play on the inside kick. No discipline was a big part of getting money people on board to make the decision.

That I completely understand and Luke should have disciplined him.

Well the good news is he’s on the market, so I’m assuming you’re hoping the Hogs are lucky enough to land an interview with him?

So keeping one or two players should be the reason to keep a failing head coach? What if I told you that's why Luke was hired in the first place? Players come and go.

Member when we kept Luke so Shea Patterson and all the WRs wouldn’t transfer? Man what a wise decision. Almost as dumb as state extending Moorhead when they were all set to fire him just because of the egg bowl

Matt Luke was in the home of three-star #OleMiss commitment De'Rickey Wright when news broke. Wright, obviously, took it hard, but Luke advised him to stay patient and pray about his pledge. Say what you want about everything else, but Luke's always been a stand-up guy.

Clarification from Wright's coach: Luke visited this afternoon. However, when the news came, he advised him to stay patient and pray about his commitment.

I mean you're always gonna have upset players when their coach gets canned. He wasnt trending well and even before the season he was in the hot seat in a lot of people's minds. He went 4-8, and yeah the way the Egg Bowl ended didnt help matters for sure.

Ben Garrett later sent out a revision to say that Luke had visited Wright's home earlier this afternoon. H
Luke wasn't sitting in the kids living room when they canned him.
