re: Ole Miss folks ... were the Tuohy's "blindsided" by Jussie Oher?

The proof is in the 2011 book (before everyone was accusing Oher of being an ingrate).
The proof is in Sean Tuohy ignorantly claiming a lie as justification for a conservatorship. Did he not say that?
If you ignore proof, that is on you. Not me.
You are welcome to have a different definition of proof than I do.
Free country.
But don't act like the Tuohys have been honest with Michael. Their deceit is my allegation against them. And there is substantial evidence.

Ok, then Lee Ann and Freezus taught him to block?
I've heard many Memphis area HS coaches say Oher was a well-known prospect long before the Touhys got to him.

High school coaches across America work to steal the best 8th graders and 9th graders. Every year.
He played at Briarcrest his soph year, junior year, and senior year. He became a "5 star" after his junior year.
He played his freshman year at some Memphis public school. Did coaches around time try to get him to their school? Sure, that's what HS coaches do.
But he wasn't some Malik Monk type who was a 5 star before he transferred to his final school.

There's fault on all sides here, but who benefited the most, the Toughys by far. With or without them, he was a 5-star recruit and a future 1st round draft pick.
Not necessarily. You know how many 4-5 star athletes get lost to the streets never to make it to college. Who knows if that would have been the case with him. Chances are he would have made it, but they did help stabilize his life and pushed him to college where he made millions in the nfl.
So he did benefit. I saw his attorney on tv. Young minority, looks fresh out of law school. Trying to make a quick buck and get his name out nationally. Thats what I take this to be.

In medicine we talk about looking through the "retrospectroscope", in other words looking back with 20/20 hindsight. It seems Oher is looking back 18 years or so (he signed with Ole Miss in 2005) and thinking that he should have made some different decisions based on what he knows now. I have no idea who is/isn't telling the truth and I'm tired of reading about it but I also wish I made some different decisions 18 years ago.

Is Blindside not a movie about Ole Miss Boosters doing whatever they needed to do to get him to Ole Miss?? Isn’t that what prompted the NCAA investigation?

You seem to have an agenda.

That's why I used the term "prospect" and not recruit.
Damn son, you need to work on reading comprehension.
Just based on his size and natural talent, he was a 5 star "prospect" from early on. Usually one doesn't become a 5 star "recruit" until he proves it on the field.

no idea. I've never seen the movie.
Are you thinking of Tunsil?

The Tuohy's benefitted the most? That is a laughable assertion. Supposedly, Tuohy had a net worth over 200 million before they even met Oher.

your initial explanation was complete horse shite
have a great night

They used him for fame and to get him to go to OM. Those are facts. They do a ton of speaking engagements due to the fame they got from the movie.
They didn’t need any money but they are fake people and that’s well known in Memphis.
Sean said himself he read the movie script before letting them finalize it. They acted like Michael didn’t know how to play football which is a straight lie and acted like his crazy wife really came down on the field during practice or told Hugh what to do which was another flat out lie

yeah, movie writers never embellish stuff

Most 9th graders have zero clue how to play. He got to Briarcrest as a sophomore. I think the OL coach at Briarcrest was some type of ex-NFL lineman.
ETA: Tim Long, Oher's line coach at Briarcrest. LINK Ex-San Fran 49er

Well considering he is the same age as myself and I was at MUS while he was at Briarcrest along with one of my best friends being on the team with him yea I saw him the day he started playing at Briarcrest
Facts are one of my best friends was the same age and on the team with him. I know more about this then I would post on a message board but the movie is fake as can be I’ll just leave it at that

He was the 5th player in the country in 2003, he met the Tuohy’s in 2004 I think

It’s worse because the person that got this movie going is Fred Smiths daughter. I’ll let you connect the dots.
Michael always hated the movie because it was full of lies.
Sean said himself he had to approve everything so why did he approve the parts acting like he didn’t know how to play football when at Briarcrest and like his crazy wife really came down on the field telling Hugh what to do? Straight lies.
Why act like they took care of him when he stayed at 4 other peoples houses within the Briarcrest family?
I’d sit this one out if I were you
