If you are planning on doing anything in the law or medical fields, then Ole Miss is the place to go.

Depends. OM considers LSU a big rival, and I'm sure you'll get hazed some for it, but i doubt people hate you for it. Unless your one of those loudmouth redneck cajun LSU type fans, then you fit in well

I've been to Hattiesburg twice. One time I was stopped at a gas station in this guy was yelling that he was "bout to stick a motha fricka" 
Four hours away or not, you really ought to visit the campus. Researching the place online can only tell you so much. Are you considering any schools besides USM or Ole Miss?

A degree from Ole Miss looks way better on a resume' than a degree from USM. Speaking from experience.
