Don't want to read the thread, but if you want to party, dress like a prep, and be in a frat, go to Ole Miss.

But seriously, go to Ole Miss

at our usual drinking spots the crowd changed from all ul-lafayette(think hot cajun girls) to everyone home from LSU, Tulane, etc. plus a 1/3rd of the UL crowd. so the usual amount of solid targets went way the frick down

majority of OM gals are home so it's really the locals here now. guess explains my kick for them.

basically......a few bud lights and a fist full of pills will get mad vahg in oxford right now.

Between USM and Ole Miss its really no contest.

1) You've got debatably the hottest chicks in the country going to school there.
2) Oxford absolutely blows Hattiesburg straight out of the water. Its got a great bar scene, its got great restaurants and food, and other great shops as well.
3) If you want to join a fraternity, Ole Miss has the best frat scene in the nation and USM has absolutely nothing on it.
4) The campus is beautiful and the Grove is always great on ballgame weekends.
5) Baseball season is truly special and is tons of fun. My most fun weekends are mostly attributed to this time of year. USM lacks this entirely really.

I honestly can't think of any upsides of going to USM over Ole Miss. I guess it would be closer to Louisiana if that were a preference for you and maybe next season your football team will be better than ours (and I wouldn't let that stop you since we sucked my first two years of college, but were really good the last two), but thats about it. Ton of LSU fans go to Ole Miss and I had some good times with them. You'll be more than welcome and you can thank me later for making sure you didn't make such a dumb decision going to USM.

Like bars

20xs better than Hattieberg's scene. There are literally over 20 different bars within a 5 minute walk of each other in a location known as the Square. Its really special and fun.

theatres

We have a movie theatre right off campus with 8 screens. We also have the Lyric, which is one of the 50 greatest music venues in the nation. Lot of good bands have been through, so its another reason why it blows Hattiesburg out of the water.

malls

No major malls, but the Square has some of the best clothes shopping in the State.

Crime rate too high in hattiesburg.

Another plus is almost no crime in Oxford whatsoever. Granted it could be because of the Oxford SS, but still.
