We'll see what TJ is made of within the next two years
yup. In the next 2 years, we'll be making tourny noise again. I think the west will be between LSU and State next season.

Won't matter. The SEC west is crap. Wonder if the winner can make it past the NIT

It can't be easy to be the coach at Ole Miss. You have the worst arena in the league to recruit to and there is another pretty good program in your state. I think Andy Kennedy has done a pretty good job, but I'm not an Ole Miss fan so I don't know.
+1
This is why Kennedy's seat isn't very warm.
Most Ole Miss fans know what he's working against.
The biggest problem with Kennedy, though is that not enough people trust him. I know a bunch of people (old ones especially) that never got on board. You've got to get behind your coach and team for them to succeed.

don't forget who the last West school to win a tourny game, win an SEC championship, and go to a Final 4 is.

Almost anyone could win the west next year and still miss the big dance again, sad really...

ok

You realize State won the SEC championship (tourny) last year right?

I couldn't care less about the SECT when you've already got everything clinched up. Hell, in 2006 LSU could have competed more but we sat Thomas out. That pretty much paid off huh?

Derenbecker = Brian Beshara

BTW, AK has a legit shot @ two 5-stars next year (O'Bryant and Ky Madden).
I think AK has a good chance to stick around @ OM for a while, barring a disastrous season next year, that is...

We return everybody and bring in two top 100 players.
We'll probably finally be better than state.

maybe. How about Stringer, Turner, and Ross-Miller? Oh yeah, and Malcolm White.

Even still, MSU is technically the last west school to win an SEC title.

Can Kennedy outfox the greatest mind in collegiate athletics in Rick Stansbury?

In years 1 and 2 of AK, we did not have NCAA tourney talent yet we were still very competitive.
Year 3 he lost Warren, Polynice, and Gaskins for the year by early Nov.
Year 4 - should have been a tourney team but underachieved and seemed to struggle getting our guys up for games and driving home the fundamentals.
Year 5 - We should absolutley be one of the best teams in the conference and make the tourney. We lose one senior and maybe Polynice. AK has no excuses for next year.

The problem is not with X's and O's.
He is a good strategist.
The problem appears to me to be twofold:
1) He signs good 3-star caliber prospects, but not that 4-star ones that will get you to the next level. So part of it is just talent.
2) I think he has a problem with teaching and motivating his players. Many of the mistakes our players have made all season have been so basic that it is obvious that they just are not paying attention and/or don't really care about winning.....the stupid turnovers, taking bad shots, etc......Much of that is not even due to lack of talent...and I am sure they have been coached not to do the things they do (which is why you often see Kennedy shaking his head in disbelief on the sidelines)
Either that or our players are just stupid......
I am not sure what the solution is--better recruiting and maybe a team with different "chemistry" or a different approach on Kennedy's part as a motivator......
I doubt Ole Miss would ever hire a better coach, though--because that would require money and a new arena and the current Administration probably would not budge on either of those....

Damnit. Right after you have a great thought and piece of input on the subject you just had to throw that last little jab in there. For frick's sake, we get it man. Anyone who frequents this board realizes you hate anything and everything about the current athletic administration. There is really no reason for you to continue to take these shots.
Get over yourself, no one gives a shite about your opinion re: our administration, you know why?

I don't think any team out of LSU, State, or OM can say they're probably better than each other right now heading into next season.

We all suck. Until LSU has their freshmen show up next year and play up to their potential, we can't really include them yet

I said probably for a reason.
Jarvis Vanardo has been you key to success the past three years.
You've got Fat kid, but Vanardo has been the best defensive low post player in the country for the past couple of years. We thought we were going to be just as good without Eli, but you saw how that turned out.
