State baseball will be better next season also- s

Well let's not give up on this season... I think we have a solid team. We have a top 25 RPI and only 2 losses, come SEC play I think we will have a decent team, we just have some young guys that need to step up in the batting department.

Assuming we don't go to Omaha this year, how much longer can we give Bianco?

another 2 years at least. He just pulled the 3rd ranked recruiting class in the nation and is set up for another one next class. Let him develop that telent.

It's the 3rd week of the season. We'll be fine.
Also, welcome to the board.

I'm sorry, but I don't see any reason to fire the man. He's been the most successful coach Ole Miss has had. We would be the laughing stock of college baseball if we did. And spare me the "he hasn't gotten us to Omaha" thing.

I don't care if it's 3 weeks or 3 months into the season, yes it's something to be concerned with. Hell I was concerned before the season started. This will be the worst team record wise that we've had in a while.

I think people are just cranky over last season. I have a hard time believing any rational person would want him fired.

ETA: First pitch was @12:30. Rebs up 3-0 btm of the first last time I looked at the game track.

This. Unless we have 5 consecutive losing seasons then there is no reason to fire the man. When he got here Ole Miss baseball was non-existent. He has turned our program into one of the best in the nation and we have some of the best baseball facilities in the nation as well. It's all because of Mike Bianco.

We've lost 2 games in 3 weeks. What is there to be concerned about?

And one of those losses was to a damn strong TCU team. We've played a lot of games in a short amount of time.

Yes, we have only lost two games but we havent played any SEC type games yet... I know we played TCU but I think they are a little down. I don't see how anybody could not be a little concerned with our pitchers. 3 new weekend starters is tough for anybody. They may turn out to be our best staff ever but right now they are new

I'm not saying fire the guy now but with our facilities and support we could hire anyone in the country. It's been 10 years and we've had Omaha talent. Maybe I just don't like settling for mediocrity
