I could see that being true. The only thing, Oxford seems like its in the middle of nowhere
If you’re looking into any school with Mississippi in the title, you should expect it to be in the middle of no-where.

Yep. Georgia is the only school in the SEC I would say has a better Greek system than Ole Miss
You ever been to Tuscaloosa? They have mansions all up and down University.

1) UGA
2a) Ole Miss
2b) Bama

I think Bama frats are Ole Miss on steroids. Most of the houses are just as big or bigger than our Sig Nu house.

Texas Tech is a fun school. You’d have to watch out for raider rash.

The only one I’d consider would be Tech. Lubbock might be a good time.

They have a good reputation and give money. Pretty simple.

GTFO. Have you ever been to Lubbock?
You want a fun college experience go to Texas State and party on the river. Short drive to San An, Austin, & Hill Country.

Ole Miss Gets a lot of kids that don’t end up at Texas and Georgia. The social scene is a lot like UGA and the price tag isn’t as bad as Texas schools.
Mix that with the elite of Mississippi and it’s a really cool place to go to college. If their alums and boosters didn’t want to take shortcuts, I believe they could be an elite football school. But every time they show promise of building something, they get caught.

It isn't just Ole Miss. Arkansas is literally about 25% Texas (mostly Dallas) kids, and 50/50 OOS vs in-state.
Georgia and UT/TAMU are hard to get into, and a lot of otherwise good students get screwed.
Fayetteville is closer to the north Dallas burbs than Lubbock is.

I know several kids who’ve gone to Ole Miss form the Atl area. Generally kids from good families who couldn’t get into UGA and didn’t want to go to Ga. Southern.
I’ve never been to Oxford, but want to go. I’ve heard it’s beautiful and folks are southern gentile. And the town is walkable, like Athens.

The fact is, the state of Mississippi is a big spread of land vs a low population. There is a reason Universities were built where they were. (Think on it). Secondly, depends on tuition plus what you are offering. Both MSU and Ole Miss will get you a great education. I know a Texas fan who went to Ole Miss for Pharmacy. I know out of state grads who went to Msu for engineering.

Exactly! And I have a lot of respect for those kids.
The first year we played at Auburn we made the trip. I saw a lot of clean cut young men with their shirts tucked in, saying, “Sir and Ma’am” with good manners and obvious good upbringing.
In other words, I’d be proud if my daughter went to Auburn if she can’t get into A&M. It’s a good conservative Land Grant school.

When was the last time LSU beat alabama again? I can't remember it's been so long. 7 years or so? idk my memory is fading because the game hasn't been close for at least 5 years now.
