I saw you calling out my name earlier. Thank you.

I can't say that Dickson has any places that are hippy or NASCAR specific. There's isn't a country bar, either. Although it does get washed in NASCARity annually every September when Toby Keith's anus opens wide and spews every Okie on two wheels into our fair city. I've learned to leave town for that shitfest.

Hippies, by definition, are mostly older people. They might be around Dickson during the day, but seem to drink more in places like Woodstone and Greenhouse in the Mill Dist. Or Bear's on 15th. Happy Hour at George's is also a treat for 60-something Earth Mama's and their admirers. Now "Hipsters" is a whole other deal, and Dickson is full of them, although Block Ave's bars and the square is more hipstery than Dickson.

As for Dickson St proper, I'm thinking most all of the bars are pretty diverse, as diverse as you can get with having about 90% white people. Richer, poorer, younger, older. Its not really all that specific. There are some places like Bordino's, Theos, Table that might skew a bit older, and there are places like Z's and Lit and Shotz that are almost exclusively college-aged. The rest are a mix, mostly under 40 type crowd. The younger set doesn't really even hit the street until around 10pm because the bars don't close until 2. Its spring break this week, though, so you should be able to find a nice patio somewhere with very little effort and parking should be easy, too.

If you are genuinely trying to avoid places with skinny jeans and facial hair, I don't think that's possible anywhere in Fayetteville.

Spring break dickson is like summer dickson, small crowds and easy parking. It is amazing

Lol

Saw where Andy frasco band is playing up there. I'll most likely be there for that one.

I've already made plans to see them in tupelo Monday night.

Thanks for the suggestions btw. I'll try to remember a few of those places....but to be honest, I'll probably just start following the first group of skirts that I see

You're old enough to know that you never follow the first group of skirts that you see. It's always the second or third group that you settle in with and make secks to.

Well obviously. But the first set of skirts typically lead me to the second group.... And so on and so forth.

It's another form of "trickle-down banging"

By the way do The mountain women there shaved their legs or nah

You'll have to narrow it down some. There aren't really any "avoid" places. I hate STIR, but because it tries too hard. There are people who like it. 21st Amendment and Dickson Pub both have rooftop bars that are kinda cool.

Do you smoke? Then Brewski's and Kingfish, although both are slightly different crowds. Live music? Kingfish, George's, Smoke & Barrel, Boom Boom and a few other places where its not the main attraction.

Patio? Busters, Common Grounds, Smoke & Barrel, Theo's, I could go on and on, and probably miss a few.

Beer gardens? Powerhouse, George's, Kingfish.

Craft cocktails? Cannibal & Craft, Puritan Brew Co, Maxine's, although most will be heavily hipster.

Coffee/espresso, meets liquor Seattle neighborhood bar vibe? Puritan or Common Grounds.

Craft beer/brew pubs? Hog Haus, West Mountain, or the handful of brewpubs not downtown, including Apple Blossom, Fossil Cove, or Columbus House if they're open.

There are a lot of options. There isn't really a "set vibe" in Fayetteville other than live-and-let-live. We have gay bars, pool halls, food trucks, fine dining, fast casual, hookah, sushi, a wine bar, crepes places, places along the trail, places underground, sportsbars, real dives, wannabe dives, and there's a speakeasy called Ben's Apartment that you'll need to find a member to get you into, or to even find the door. Good luck. Bonus points for posting a picture of the personal humidors at Ben's.

There really are just a lot of places to drink. Here's an incomplete but fairly accurate list of places walkable if you park at the WAC lot or on Block Ave. I've italicized places that are primarily restaurants but have decent sized bars. I left out places like Doe's and U.S Pizza where the bar is minor attraction.

Dickson/West Ave
Mickey's
Bugsys
Tokyo
George's
Arsagas
Hog Haus
West End? (the other rooftop place btw West Ave and the railroad tracks)
Dickson Social Club ("barcade" with vintage arcade games)
Green Room (pool)
Uno (karaoke)
Stir
Buster's
Shotz
Liquid
Common Grounds
Brewskis
21st Amendment
Roger's Rec
Smoke & Barrel
Z330
Lit
Theos
Bordino's

Dickson Pub
Willy D's
Cannibal & Craft
Dickson Street Theater (gay on Sundays)
Puritan Brew Co.
Grub's
The Wine Cellar
Powerhouse
Marley's
Farrell's (sports 'gastropub')
Sideways (sports)
Kingfish
BoomBoom/Ryleigh's (BB downstairs, ryleighs upstairs)
Wasabi

Block Ave
Maxine's
HandleBar
Push(gay)
Hugo's (great burgers)
Tables & Ale
JR's Lightbulb Club

Square
Fresco
West Mountain Brewing
Vetro
Taste of Thai
Damgoode

Dickson Street is sort of a microcosm of NW Arkansas. There are hipsters, old school hillbillies, hell you might even find one of the few remaining hippies, and assorted and sundry there.

Once vast herds of hippies used to mill about on Dickson St, which I still call Dixon St. when I am not being careful. We were eventually able to cull the herd. Some were relocated to Eureka Springs. Others were put down humanely.

Now a days it is a fairly upscale location. There are bars a plenty, some excellent dining, and, if you are lucky, drunken spring break coeds.

In all honesty, while it isn't my scene, Dickson Street is one of the nicest college pub crawls you can find.
