Probably fewer. The defense might be "generally good enough to shut down offenses" but they shut OU's offense down. OU had fewer total yards vs BAMA than they did Tejas. BAMA scored 2 fewer points than Tejas and they missed a FG and turned it over 3x more than Tejas.
Turnovers killed BAMA. Give credit to OU defense, but if BAMA just prevents the pick 6 with a tackle, they probably win that ball game despite losing the turnover battle 3-0.
