It seems Oklahoma's defense could be really good this year. Vols are more than ready though.

Vols run the ball as good as anyone in the nation.

#6 in the SEC last year vs SEC opponents in YPA

3.33 YPA vs Florida
4.73 YPA vs Texas A&M
3.50 YPA vs Alabama
3.61 YPA vs Missouri

Feasted on overmatched teams like Virginia, Austin Peay, UTSA, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.

Looks like we should just go ahead and forfeit, it being a total mismatch and all.

You will get used to it. Part of the natural breeding cycle of Tennessee Vol fans is that they start proclaiming they will win a national title a month or two before the season starts. This gives them just enough hope that they enter a brief period where they are fertile.

It's generally gone by October but it is amazing to watch while it is happening. It is like watching the salmon swim up stream to spawn.

one of the winningest programs in history

There are at least 6 teams in the SEC who would be 'one of muh winningest programs in muh history' playing that lame schedule OU has played year in, year out.

You're nothing special. You're in a real conference now.

Prepare thy anus.

You're not playing B12 pansies anymore. Those stats mean nothing to us.

I wouldn't sleep on Oklahoma at home for their first SEC game.

OU is the favorite. Great defense, home field, first SEC game, and I think OU is the better team.

I haven’t given the game much thought, but I’m not the type of fan to tell you your team sucks regardless to how I really feel…

OU is a great program. But don’t pretend that the majority of your league competition is anything close to what Tennessee has played historically

Before 2003/2004 the sec was Bama and Tennessee, nobody else was elite. OU has played Texas, Nebraska, and Colorado/Texas A&M/Colorado perennially for decades and decades. The big 12 from 2000-2010 was better than the sec top to bottom and it’s not a question. OU is twice the program TN is historically and there’s no excuses you can come up with that takes away from that.

It’s true OU is twice the program VOLS are.

It’s objectively false the Big XII was a better conference than the SEC from 2000-2010. What an outrageous claim.

Vols will show you who has had the benefit of playing in a cupcake team talent wise conference compared to the SEC on September 21st. Statement game for Heupel.

Sane advice.

Funny it's not UGA or Bama fans banging the SEC gong. It's the 12 appendages.

This will be entertaining.

You're in for a surprise if you're truly that confident.

I'm not going off stats from last year, that can be misleading. You guys keep hyping Nico but we've seen 5-star busts and we've seen 3-star unknowns become 1st overall NFL picks. You think you know how he will pan out, but you really don't know. I know he was highly-rated coming out of HS but

OU's front 7 is being severely underrated. We plugged some deficiencies up front and have a bunch of returning starters at LB and edge. Year 3 for guys like Stutsman and R. Mason Thomas will be huge. Remember those names. OU's secondary will be top 3 in the league.

Offense may be a year-long project, but we have good RB depth and what's probably the SEC's best WR room. Top 2 at least. Our own young QB was also highly-rated coming out of HS but again, I don't predict greatness of failure based on one meaningless game. All the tools are there, we just need to see how the new OL coalesces.

41 to 20 is ludicrous. I'm thinking something around 38 to 24, OU.

Piggybacking on Bama. Cute!

Have the Vols done anything in this century? I'm scratching my head.

Is August like the month of Vol pot-banging or something? Pretty sure by October it'll simmer down.
