You want to know why no one in the SEC respects your team? You want to know why no one likes Ole Miss fans?

First off, I never post...just do a lot of reading, but I had to let this out.

So my wife and I are at home enjoying a movie last night when I get the text message, "Hotty Toddy--go rebels--did you see us win?" I just look at my wife and say, "this is why Ole Miss fans suck. They beat Memphis (and were only up by ten with 6 minutes left in the 4th and then had to pile it on to look like a blowout) and feel the need to text and call LSU fans."

That is the difference between the programs. I have never felt the need, or want, to call an Ole Miss fan after LSU has won a game (or the West, or the SEC Championship, or the national championship). That is so pathetic that you guys do this. Not saying every Ole Miss fan does it, but the majority of them do. You guys want to be accepted so bad by the rest of the SEC that you just cannot let a win go to waste.

What is one thing you never ask an Ole Miss fan, player, or coach? Directions to Atlanta.

So one fan makes up an entire fan base?

I guess that means ALL LSU fans throw piss bombs.

Yeah my friend who graduated from OM in 2008 sent me a text saying Hotty Toddy after they scored their first touchdown in the first quarter. I mean... really?

Touche. But to answer your question, only when we're playing an SEC team at night. Anything else would be uncivilized.

ole miss historically has a losing record in the SEC. Lsu has a winning record in the SEC

Lsutiger one thing I think we are seeing in the SEC west is the power pendulum swinging away from Lsu. Lsu has alot of tradition and a tremendous recruiting base. Certainly when Saban was there you saw the program hit the pinnacle of what it was capable of. Now that his players have all but left the system, Lsu simply doesn't look as tough. Ole MIss on the other hand is more respected than it's been in 40 years. They are the #8 team in the country. They slaughtered Lsu in the Rouge last year.

I think that is what the telephone call was all about. It's about the national prestege being in Ole Miss currently and not Baton Rouge. And that is a direct result of one historically lesser program having a superior football coach and overacheiving talent while the other probabaly has more future NFL players that are underacheiving.

I got text messages from three different Ole Miss fans yesterday after Snead finally looked decent in the fourth quarter that said "Snead for Heisman." WTF.

I'll say this ole miss is not a top 10 right now. Bama is going to win the west handily.

I never call or text to gloat, but I do call and/or text my LSU friends to congratulate them when the Tigers do well, and they reciprocate. (I have no Bama friends; that's where I draw the line --LOL).

But cut some slack for my fellow Rebels who feel the need to do this. LSU sucked only for the decade of the 90's; we've been wandering in the wilderness of mediocrity (or worse) for almost 40 years.

Teetering...I have cut Ole Miss fans slack for YEARS. But enough is enough. You think this is the first time I have been called after an Ole Miss win NOT over LSU?

Once again, in my original post, I said that not every Ole Miss fan does this. Just seems like a lot of Ole Miss fans do this who know LSU fans.

If it bothers you that much just find a way to shut them up. I have an LSU friend who used to call me every time LSU got another commit from a recruit; when it got to be tiresome this spring, I just started asking him how adept the recruit would be at watching us take a knee like we did to avoid embarrassing the Tigers even more than we did last year. You have way more material to work with than I did. Unless and until we actually win a championship, any Rebel who bothers a LSU fan with uninvited smack deserves to get smacked down. Just do it.

seconded. The only time that this is acceptable is during an OM/LSU game.

Exactly my point. Where does the smack talk come from? I point out the fact (even in my first post) about you guys not winning anything, but you still feel like you should run your mouths. You beat an LSU team that was not good at all last year for the first time since 2001 and all of a sudden you guys are world beaters. What gives?

I like the fact that you have chalked up a victory for Ole Miss against us already this year and are going to "take a knee to avoid piling it on us." You have not beaten us in Oxford since 1998.

Oh, and I forgot, one other reason your program is not respected is because you hang banners for championships in which you did not win (see 2003 West Champs).
