Absolutely. And I'd take AJ Derby over Evan Engram, since Derby is an actual TE. Evan Engram's a great player but I just don't consider him a true TE.
But, it's really a matter of style and scheme. Engram is probably a lot better in Freeze's offense than AJ Derby would be.
Wow!! Holy shite, you're delusional. You'd trade a first team All-SEC true sophomore for a guy that can't even start for his own damn team? Let me guess, you would pick Allen over Mariota too, huh?

OJ Howard vs Evan Engram
I heard from some friends that played at Prattville High School when OJ Howard was a freshman there, and they said he transferred to Autauga Academy because he couldn't cut it at Prattville (mentally he was weak, physically he was gifted). It doesn't look like it's affecting him at Alabama right now, but that made me question his competitiveness a little bit.

Engram is better than Howard.
However, Howard has improved night and day at traditional tight end things like blocking, which has been a big help down the stretch. But he has a ways to go in figuring out how to be a successful pass catching tight end.

We have Engram, so we only need to start one.

2. O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama: Howard was expected to shine in Lane Kiffin’s offensive scheme and was named to the preseason All-SEC first-team. However, the tight end didn’t record his first reception until the Tide’s third game and managed just 246 yards on 15 catches for the season. Howard was held without a touchdown and averaged 16.4 yards per game during a disappointing sophomore season.

He's basically the Landon Collins of the bama offense.
