My initial reply was to the tard that said OJ sucked and only had 1600 yards receiving. It's hilarious that LSU fans would even consider busting on a TEs receiving numbers considering the numbers their eligible receivers have put up in the last 2-3 years.
Now this i can agree with.
Howard is a great TE, and considering he blocks and can catch, he will have a great career.

The truth is a flame. Love is a battlefield.

I don't think that is fair. Bama fans are basically saying he is underutilized and if he wasn't he would be the best. How can anyone argue with that? You say that they aren't pass happy but they still managed to get the ball to some pretty good receivers over the years. They often completely ignore the guy. I think it is fair to say that based on all of the hype when he showed up that it is somewhat surprising how little he ever did other than 1 game.

Put him on a team like New England and he could be all pro. He has the skills.

Would I rather have 1609 yards and 14 TDs in 36 games or 1620 yards and 6 TDs in 56 games.
Tough choice
A LB has 100 tackles and 15 TFL
A DT has 70 tackles and 14 TFL
There's no way in hell they're producing on the same level. Position HAS to be taken into consideration. The stats in my example are a bit extreme, but the point stands.
And wasn't Howard the highest graded blocking TE in the entire country? That's a frick ton of production my man. You saying it's an easy choice is just wrong. But you know that already.

There was no quantifying statement based on position. It was simply "Howard has basically been more productive" which is flat out false.
Sorry you don't like it.
ETA: What you guys are claiming is that Howard is more valuable than Dupre based on production at their given positions.
Properly convey your sentiments next time to avoid the confusion.

Arguing that Howard was outright more productive is ignorant.

We are counting his blocking production which has been a key component of Alabama's rushing attack and is a key if not primary factor in evaluating TE production. We are also giving him the championship multiplier* for his production. So yeah he has easily been more productive. Sorry you don't like it.
*The championship multiplier is applied to production that leads to championships. A lesser multiplier may be applied if production led to at least a second place finish in your division.
