Actually Alabama played Ark. State occasionally, especially when Coach Bryant was coaching. Larry Lacewell, their head coach, was a grad asst. at Alabama under coach Bryant. Larry ended up at Oklahoma as def.cord. under Barry Switzer. He came home early one time from a recruiting trip to find Switzer in bed with his wife, so...Switzer fired him! It nearly destroyed Lacewell, and Coach Bryant heard about it and brought him into his home, where he stayed until he could get himself together. With Coach Bryant's help, he got on at Arkansas St. and got his life back together.
Everytime I see that son-of-a-bitch Switzer on TV, I think about how he treated his own coach...a TOTAL piece of shite!
PS- Look at Switzer's history to get some insight on that bastard!
