Pretty bad rankings

I think the rankings look pretty accurate, especially considering what we've seen so far. I'd be hard-pressed to do any better.

This weekend should clear things up a bit.

Voting is a delicate balance because it's so early in the season, one team looks good one game (Bama vs USC), then looks like it has real weaknesses in another (Ole Miss).

Usually for me, I like to get at least a couple of conference games in before I change my opinion of a team from what I thought before the season started.

The inconsistency across the board does make this season more challenging than in the past.

But Kentucky is still Kentucky, so there's that.

Voting is tough early on, especially with how inconsistent everyone seems to be at this point. Right now, every team has flaws, even the top contenders. That will change as the season goes on.

As a former litho press operator it does my heart good to see Pantone chart in action!

Mine is still in my desk. I am still in the industry and occasionally need to look up a color.

Brings back old memories

Do they still sell Koh-I-Noor pens and Letraset?

With everything going to computers the lost art of pre press is probably lost.

Agreed but I don't miss cleaning ink rollers. Those were some nasty chemicals.

Ah the good old days! "Hey kid, go get me a large bucket of halftone dots."

I loved the smell of old ink and high gloss press paper, seems that went away in the late 80's and early 90's when folks went to Kinko's and such for photocopies on cheap paper for newsletters and such.

Anybody old enough to remember lead typesetting?

Good old days?

10 out of a 100 got cancer in my plant

Before gloves we soaked our hands in blanket wash, 99% pure isopropyl alcohol and methyl ethyl keytone all day.

And I still have all the tips of my fingers

Funny you say that, I was just thinking about some of the pressmen I knew and several are gone from cancer.

I remember a chemical called TTT or something like that? Of course no gloves, that stuff turned my hands chalky white. I remember walking into the ink room one day and it was gone and management didn't want to talk about it.

Lucky for me I was a lousy pressman and they moved me into sales.

Were you a pressman in Dayton?

Back in the day it was amazing how much material in the USA went through the web presses there. Had some nice pre press shops and in a short drive were some really good 4 color separators.
