Serious responses please
Some people consider Davis serious while others think his toxic past makes him a ridiculous hire for a school coming out of a scandal
Holgerson is a drinker and a skirt chaser you can discount him because of the risk is too high to replace a loose cannon with a loose cannon

Is Barney Fife's son a candidate?

It's going to be interim, I think it's Horton or Johnson. Then it will be a search of epic proportions. Realistically nobody know who it will be. I have listed Fitz as my personal favorite. I think whoever it is will be above reproach and will have a record of strong academics, family values, and personable. The skeletons of Louisville won't want to be revisited.

Siloam Springs is close enough.

That would not be Davis or Pete Carroll. Al Golden or Pat Fitzgerald

I understand the reasons for not wanting Paul as HC, but I would rather have Paul be making big game time decisions than anyone else on staff. I don't have a lot to back up this feeling, other than Bobby was great at game time decision making and Paul must have picked up on it over the years of working for him. Plus our identity is still an offensive team, and I think he would best be able to make the aggressive calls at the right times without having to think twice about it.

I think it's Fitz, honestly. I know Golden isn't coming but would be a great choice. Key is though, can Arkansas get Fitz out of Evanston? I think since he didn't get Penn St gig it will be easier.

Both Golden or Fitz declined to interview for the PSU job.
The canidates were Tim Murphy -Havard Bill O'Brien-Ga Tech/New England and David Cutcliffe-Duke and Mike Munchak-Tennesse Titans
In addition to Golden & Fitz, Petersen of Boise and David Shaw of Stanford also declined the interview
Despite rumors Dan Mullen did not get an interview not that he is not deserving but he was coming off a pay for play thing with Cam which disqualified him for what was/is ahead in Happy Valley

I like Jag also, but the way he left BC would scare me as an AD. But he is hell of an offensive mind and organizer.

They fired him because he interviewed for another job or something, correct ?

No thanks on Paul, he wasn't very good at all with Bobby.

Somebody tell me agin why we consider Pat Fitzgerald?

Yes an NFL job. That would worry me.
Another possible candidate not been mentioned is Mario Cristobal, especially if they go bowling next season.

Understand the culture at Penn State is such it is/was important to have an academic football team.
With nothing left to hang on to but the graduation rates potential coaches got slotted by how their kids did in the classroom just as much as on the football field hence the David Cutcliffe
The long story made short is they got a guy that is very Pennsylvania (although he is from Boston)

Pat Fitz has produces a representive team at a private school that does not lower the academic bar for athletes, with smart two stars he has hung in there vs the Ohio States' that turn a blind eye to grades. The kid is the shite and will prolly not leave Northwestern until he replaces Nick Saban at Alabama
