The perception of Mallett by a lot of people on here and otherwise is that he's dumb, drug user, etc... But the guys knows the game of football
Complete truth, and would be repeated by anybody that played with him. Nobody studied more film. I've said he's a douche several times which he is but I've always given him respect as a football player.

It sucks that if they get a new coach that is currently employed, that coach will put the team he currently coaches such a shitty position.

Unfortunately with the situation, there is no possible scenario for one team to not get screwed. Most of the scenarios involve us getting the short end. I have never seen a silver bullet with anything and there definitely is not one here.

I doubt that McGee is in Arkansas as we type, he has a prior working relationship with Jeff Long & The University, there is no need for an on campus face to face. But if it's on Twitter it must be true.

GM(McGee) only coach Ark should look at if they wanna win now
I totally agree. You have 4 years + a partial 2013 recruiting class, Bobby Petrino specific, pool of talent. The only way to get the full cultivation out of it is with McGee IMHO.
I'd think if anyone else came in, they go from very possible contender to an easy 5 loss team. That will happen.

Not reading this entire thread.
I don't want Malzahn.
If you thought Petrino struggled with putting a quality defense on the field you haven't seen anything yet.
As head coach Malzahn will have no one to rein him back. I would expect he will go full out Hurry Up No Huddle fast paced offense which will almost guarantee the defense will struggle.
I would rather a coach that will coach an offense similar to what we are running now.

I really don't think Malzahn wants to run a big time D-1 program. I would have thunk he could have had a lot of jobs this year, he could have been a strong candidate for any team that needed a coach and look where he went. I think he's very comfortable being an OC with a big timer. Head coach, not so much.

How much do you think we would pay him? 2 million? He hasn't proved himself as a HC.
What's he making a UAB?
