So Miles is capable of grooming a QB?
He's saying Les can't do worse than Croton.

Krag is staying on to coach the qbs. And he will still be right beside the play callers in the Booth. Studrawa has a pretty decent background calling plays as well

Honestly I don't know. But I do know he delegates and doesn't focus on one position.

Come on B, think about it. Crowtons main problem was too many Formations, too many mass substitutions, along with poor qb development and sloppy execution. We aren't changing the plays so much as we're changing the play calls.
I don't follow LSU's O close enough to know the deficiencies. Just look at the stats and have to read the complaints on this site.

And as much as everybody loves to think we're going to all of sudden suck because of this, the fact remains that he's staying a big part of our offense
Nobody thinks LSU is gonna suck. LSU has the talent to override the lack of one coach.

Uaahhhhhhh. Smoking weed has nothing to do with my prediction. Jj has been getting exactly what he needed this year... attention. If your watch recent film on him, his mechanics have changed dramatically. And you wont see everybody running on and off the field this year either. shite gonna get real.

3) Alabama - I don't think McElwain gets enough credit, Bama usually finds a way to put points on the board.
When Jacksonville State hangs more points on Ole Miss than Alabama (with Julio, Ingram, Richardson, Maze, a senior QB, etc) you have a problem.
When you can only score three points in one whole half against an average Auburn defense that lesser talented offenses hung more on, you have a problem. THREE frickING POINTS! That goes to show how much of a difference those two Aubie defenders who were suspended in the first half, really made!
When teams like Kentucky, Troy, Arkansas, and Tennessee hang more points on South Carolina than UA, you have a problem.
And seriously, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Florida, and North Carolina hung more points on LSU's D than Alabama did...
Should I also mention "powerhouse" offenses like Kent State's, Indiana's and Iowa's equaled the amount of points Alabama's loaded offensive hung on Penn State?
McElwain deceives people (particularly the braindead UA fans) by padding the stats against weakling opponents like Duke, Georgia State, San Jose State, and occasionally has one phenomenal offensive outing against an okay team like Tennessee or Mississippi State, making him appear to be better than what he is. Translation: he's overrated as hell. UA will never field an offense loaded with talent like we did last season and last year McElwain's once in a lifetime offense shite, pissed, and puked in the bed.
But I'll give McElwain credit for at least showcasing that talent against second/third-tier teams (Duke, Ga State, SJS, etc.). I can't wait to see what he has in store for Kent State, North Texas and Georgia Southern this year!

You nailed it, BradPitt. I hate his offense. I'm tired of the receivers run the same shitty routes short of the sticks over and over again. There's no creativity or ingenuity in McElwain's offense. He never take risks or attempts to make big plays even when they're down big i.e. South Carolina and Utah. The offense often bogs down, have a hard time extending drives and we might as well punt on third downs that are longer than seven yards. The job of an offensive coordinator is to make it easier for his players to make plays. In McElwain's offense, our receivers have to break three or four tackles and gain massive YAC for the play to gain decent yardage. It's not like these players are out in space either. There are multiple defenders around the ball because the receivers are rarely catching the ball in full stride. The guy's a joke, he's pitiful and the Alabama offense will never realize its full potential until this man is gone.

Let's see you be the OC for an undefeated SEC & National Championship team you little fricknugget
Posted on 8/4/11 at 10:28 pm to BradPitt
All of those teams had two weeks to scheme for the Bama defense so the circumstances were not the same.
When 6 of your 8 Sec opponents have twice as long as usual to come up with a way to stop you they usually do a good job.

Crowton was fricking to much of a trick this/trick that coach. No identity. Kragthorpe said he wouldn't change teminology, nor the standard plays. But he would make it simple, POWER run football.
Honestly, it will be Les Miles philosophy. Kragthorpe's main job was to coach QB, which Crowton was incapable. He still will be.
Is this ideal? No. Is it a disaster? No.
This all sounds rather logical, in a short-term sort of way. But I have a question...
The newly appointed OC is Studrawa. Now, I recall on the Rant during the OC search almost 100% of LSU fans there came unglued at the idea Stud would take over the reins. If all he was charged to do is do what "you" all say he did at BG (which seems like an OK resume), why the freak out then and not now? If it's all Miles' 2009-2010 offense, anyone could call it...

I thought Petrino did most of the play-calling. I could be wrong but I would have Mcelwain hire and your Nutt analysis is spot on.
I thought Kent Austin was going to be the X-factor Nutt didnt have at Arkansas. Our Offense looked great the first two years in the system. When Austin left I lost some faith in Nutt's ability to retain a good OC. For God's sake Austin was a star at Ole Miss and was back coaching at his old school. Hell at one point I remember thinking to myself we should give Austin a shot at HC when we got rid of Nutt... Prolly not the best idea but WAOM. He left us for the fricking IVY League

He does. I definitely wouldn't put Garrick as the #2 OC in the west because of that reason. He was the OC at Northwestern before we hired him and he ran some good offenses there but at the end of the day Petrino runs the offense for us and Garrick is the OC in title only.
