That is bluegrass, not ragtime. Good tune, thanks for posting.

As a Mizzou fan, Ragtime came out of Saint Louis and involved the piano primarily and musicians of the darker color

See also, Scott Joplin and Eubie Blake

Yeah, not a rag writer or singer.

Here is white guy rag from the 1950's, one of my favorite Americans they should make a movie about but never will. Nike Carmen Miranda, "kids would get restless and grown ups would snore"

If you are old enough to remember a 1950's jukebox, this is what it looked like generation or two before. I think Scott Joplin made Saint Louis famous with his "Maple Leaf Rag"

c19 has changed it all forever.

Looks like a standard 5 piece string bluegrass band, no piano

Ragtime has a piano, and no picked strings like banjo or bass

A "rag" has become a common generic term for an up tempo instrumental, now found in many genres. The term has its origins in Ragtime, but has expanded considerably in the last century.

I like it, has that 80's hair band feel and the scrambled pic of the Skinamax Channel of the era.
