Bump for the later morning crew. Worth a discussion.

Can't really argue with any of the rankings. I'd personally put 2020 Alabama #1 but I get your reasoning for putting them #2 and honestly neither of us are able to be completely objective on that subject.
I also can't argue with 2017 Bama in last place, although that team was steamrolling everyone early in the year. They regressed as the season went on though, mostly because dynamic playmaker Jalen Hurts slowly morphed into "roll right, throw it out of bounds" Jalen Hurts.

Please enlighten me as to what cheating took place with Ohio State? There was a bit of a scandal but no cheating.

Yeah, I'm kind of interested to hear about that. Or even Clemson's "cheating".

No doubt. It's really impossible. If a Bama put their 2020 team at #1, I can't argue it much really.

They did... in 2019. 2019 Bama was better than 2020 Bama. Injuries hurt that 2019 Bama team & LSU having the best team in the history of CFB didn't help them

That's an LSU narrative I can't get behind.

Supposed to be very dominant but damn near lost to a gimmicky Auburn team. (Ok, I'll be fair. Auburn went up early in the game and stayed up due to the FSU QB playing mostly ineptly until the end and as a result, Gus took his foot off the gas and ordered very predictable offensive play. For once, he tried to be a normal HC and it cost him) I could write more maybe on FSU for that season but who among us here cares?
Give Jimbo a little respect. That offense averaged 51.6 ppg while the defense gave up 12.1 ppg. He almost averaged a 40 point margin a game. Negative points for ACC schedule and no playoff yet, but still.

That's why. Have nothing against Jimbo other than being your coach

JFF was plenty good in '13 until he got hurt. We didn't have a defense. We dropped 42 on Bama and 41 on Auburn and lost both.

It is really hard to separate 2018 Clemson, 2019 LSU, and 2020 Alabama.

No 2009 Alabama? No as flashy as our later championship team but they did go undefeated

I would say 2019 LSU played virtually the same 2018 Clemson team. There was very little turnover for Clemson that year.
Clemson lost 3 1st round defensive linemen

That’s further back than 10 years, mate

1 and 2 did basically play each other in 2019 with 2 playing a different NFL QB
They did play each other.
Bama also had Waddle, Jeudy, and Ruggs in addition to Smith! The 19’ bama offense was fricking stacked.
Just not as stacked as LSUs.

Good list, as with any of these you can quibble over placement, but I can’t disagree with any of them
