Until I saw a map, I was imagining the “big U turn” he spoke of as not so big. I had that route shorter in my mind until I saw how far south the Arkansas River hits the Mississippi.

But that was a trip for sure.

Next time he can go out the Mississippi to the GULF OF AMERICA to Biloxi, gamble, then to Mobile, then up to the TennTom.

Yeah, that's cool. Vol Navy is on my list of things to experience. Would love to catch a ride from Chattanooga for the next SC/UTK game in Knoxville.

There's a mapped loop down the Mississippi around the Gulf and up the Eastern seaboard and across the Great Lakes that takes around 6 months to complete. I contemplate doing that in retirement from time to time.

A guy did it in his 16’ job boat this summer in 19 days.

Beautiful time of year to do it, too.

Once you get up river of Whitesburg bridge at Huntsville, it's a beautiful trip all the rest of the way.

One thing about what the guy says that makes no sense. He says that he got on The Tombigbee river. On that trip he never would get close to the Tombigbee river.
He would have passed the mouth of the Tombigbee waterway only.
