what if Newtons father took the cash and Cam had no idea about it. Cam made a family decision by going to Auburn, etc.
it'd suck if he got railed and was innocent. HE didn't receive the benefits, his father did.

By forgotten, they meant it would kick into high gear. Simple mistake.

The FBI is involved because churchs are non-profit organizations that do not pay taxes. So the FBI is getting involved simply because they think there is a money trail they are not interested in whether a reporter is telling the truth or not. They will want to know if someone is fricking the government out of their cut.
Is someone donated money to his fathers church and took a tax break and it was a pay off then Auburn is fricked. This is not good for Auburn.
Lying to a reporter is one thing but if you lie to the FBI you are an idiot.
In the example of the case which you speak of above, it would not be the FBI getting involved, it would be the Treasury Department.

I have to say right now I'm skeptical of that email. Maybe if he used more caps and few more exclamation points in that email, I might take him more seriously.

No, no. Cam has to receive the money personally... on an Auburn University payroll check... delivered to him in person by the fricking provost.
Otherwise, no case.

Looks like John Bond is well and truly fricked then.

Otherwise, no case, especially if you don't get him on camera actually depositing the check into his personal checking account.

Yes, because Auburn has not only paid Cam to come play, but they've paid the FBI and NCAA to turn a blind eye to anything other than John Bond's culpability that might turn up in the investigation.

I can't deal with the stupid in this thread. Denial is one thing, but the FBI isn't there to help AU sleep at night.

Maybe the FBI will investigate the 2006 LSU-AU game while they're at it.
Be careful what you wish for. If they start looking into AU/LSU games they will look into ALL of them and they WILL find the mystery person who blew that frickin' whistle in the stands at the 1995 game in Baton Rouge. And when they do that fricker is TOAST.
