Correct, but is is an indicator that the FBI has done at least a cursory review of the facts/allegations surrouonding an issue and determined that they bear further looking in to........NEVER a good sign, IMHO. They will now go wherever the trail leads. If, what they are investigating turns up evidence of wrongdoing, the guilty will sell out their grandma to work a deal. The FEDS will turn deal after deal untill things have run their course. It is how the system works.
You never want FBI/DOJ and your name in the same sentence unless it is to say you were just hired.

I hope so.

Maybe the FBI will investigate the 2006 LSU-AU game while they're at it.

FBI/DOJ is a machine. When it wants to find something, it gets what it wants. These are the absolute best investigators/prosecutors in the land and they have unlimited funds to do what needs to be done.
This is not Barney Fife or the NCAA lady from The Blind Side we are talking about here.
If this were involving Bama I would have shite a weeks worth of underwear already.

Just when you think this story has reached it's peak.... BAM!..... FBI...
I am really enjoying all of this.

It involves former State players, so I'm very nervous.

Yeah, maybe if the stories were all at once. I feel like it's been a slow leak over a year even though it's only been a week.

Absolutely. Any other position is laughable.
"someone called in a favor to clear Auburmn!"
The Frickin FBI does not do favors. There are about 3 people in this country that can instigate an FBI investigation, and they do not like to waste time/effort.
Still need coroboration and there is no proof that this will blow up on Aubie....but I would be nervous.

Somewhere in a minimum security prison, Don Seigelman just yelled amen.

Cam is the player. The FBI is not interested in the players...they are interested in the agents.
The NCAA is interested in the players.
And if the FBI investigation unearths stuff about players or -- dare I say it -- boosters, the NCAA will disregard it and focus on unearthing the same stuff in their own (slow) investigation.
Right?

I'm not sure the NCAA will ever be party to anything the FBI investigates.

Why of course

Not good news for Auburn.

That is not a bad theory, but that is not what the story says. It says they are investigating whether people are shopping players to colleges (i.e. Kenny Rogers)
Do you honestly think that the investigation will stop at who is doing the shopping and ignore who is being shopped to?

How about a ban bet on whether the FBI ever issues a subpoena in this matter?

Look at what you did to your school.
