Well, if you head east on I-44 in Missouri, you'll be heading to STL, I-55 is what takes you into Illinois. That or I-70.

Same thing can be made for kentucky, arkansas, texas.

It's ok, you'll get over us being here.

This isn't about the schools being in the league.

If the tournament was in Louisville, Miami or El Paso we'd be having the same discussion.

One day yins are going to have to get over this. Missouri is not the South. It's the Midwest. The days of conference affiliation being about anything other than making the most money possible are over.

If tradition, geography, rivalries drive these things (and I wish they did) we'd still be in the Big 8.

the point being, 6 of 11 SEC states border non-league states. If the plan is to have some slight rotation for venues, very high % its going to be in a location close to non-SEC areas. this isnt shocking news.

Again, its easier if people just realize this isnt the 1960's anymore

Nothing wrong with it being in louisville, too.

I get your sarcasm with Miami or el paso. But St Louis is known as a host city for college basketball. Thats why STL was strongly considered. Its one freaking year. Get over it?

It's not that big a deal. Mizzou is new to the league, St Louis is a big enough city and it is also close enough to 2 big basketball fanbases, Arkansas and Kentucky, that UK/Arky fans will show up. Throw in Missouri and the fascination of the a new thing (plus a good league) and it'll be a solid tournament.

Not really sure what this means. The SEC tournament should, and will be, in one of the SEC's big centrally located cities for the majority of it's events (Nashville, Atlanta) or New Orleans (because it is New Orleans). It will venture to the fringes a few times a decade (St Louis, Tampa, Houston) and we will all lament that it is far, and then it will return home.

If you guys think this is bad you should have heard the bitching about the year it was in Tampa. It was a disaster (both people being pissed and the tournament itself).

St. Louis is more "centrally located" than Kansas City would be. The Big 12 has KC locked down anyway.

These tournaments need to rotate. I don't give a frick if they are on opposite ends of the league. The "centrally located" sites are a long fricking way from several schools, and we've tolerated that shite for 25 years.

I'm all for SEC tournaments in Dallas, KC and Memphis.

People in Alabama and Georgia will lament. Everybody else will enjoy the sites being spread out fairly for a change.

And they will once every 4/5 years.

The only logical locations are

Atlanta
Nashville
Memphis
New Orleans
Houston
Dallas
St Louis
Orlando

Kansas City, San Antonio and Louisville have arenas that would work, but there are better options in those regions.

Florida, South Carolina, Middle/East Tennessee

They'll all get over it, but don't act like playing in St Louis is better for most of the SEC. It's better for Missouri and Arkansas. And that's fine, you deserve one of these, but Atlanta and Nashville are closer for the large majority of the SEC.

It’s in Tampa in 2022. That’s almost Cuba or Mexico.

I'd rather it go to St Louis permanently than go back to Tampa.

And I'd certainly rather play it in Havana
