Bama had replacements on the Oline.. and we're talking about Bama playing a full 60 with it's best players. Again, it's speculation, but I think Bama at it's best, beats anyone else at their best this year.

The fact of the matter is that in the 2nd half of the game played on the field, Cam arse raped Bama like it was nobody's business.

And the first half, Auburn was raped by McElroy...big deal.

We will be just as good on offense next year as we were this year and probably a little better.

No way if Julio leaves.

I expect QB play to go down some. Big plays here and there that McElroy could never do, but also a lot more INT's that McElroy would have never thrown.

HB won't drop off that much because of Richardson.

WR will be a huge dropoff if Julio leaves. Maze is a decent speed/slot style receiver, but most of what he does is due to the coverage Julio draws away from him. Bama is loaded with 4 star receivers all over the place, but none have impressed me that much. McCarron will have trouble if a clear #1 caliber receiver does not emerge. We simply have no one close to Julio on the roster.

O-line: should be about the same as this year, maybe better....good but not amazing. Carpenter at LT is replaceable and we return the other 4 if I remember correctly.

TE: no real playmakers at this position on the roster. Colin Peek was huge for us in 09 and we have yet to find a replacement.

Overall, run game will be really good (and we will run a ton), but pass game will suffer heavily. We will be one dimensional the first half of the season.

I agree

The sec w will be decided on the last game of the season IMO.

Cool.

So LSU beat the most talented team in the nation?

Yes. Talent does not always equal wins, especially when it is young talent. I don't think this is a shock to anyone. Talent simply keeps you in the discussion.

And at the end of the game, Bama lost and Cam wasn't stopped, which was my point.

To speculate that if Bama "could" have stopped Cam if they played a full 60 is laughable. If Ole Miss would have played every play like their best play the entire year, they would have won the National Championship....big deal.

If Cam leaves it's a 3 team race. Bama/AR game early on will be an eliminator IMO and the winner's game w/lsu might be for the SEC.

Really? Peek had 26 receptions for 313 yards and 3 TDs. Preston Dial had 25 for 264 and three TDs...I'd say he did an admirable job.

That actually is precisely my point...saying Auburn won because Newton "raped" Bama is stupid.

LSU has to pray that Mettenberger is who they say he is. That team will never win an SEC title with Jefferson leading the team. Just not gonna happen and I think most LSU fans can admit this. An average QB can win national titles, but he has to be an excellent game manager. Jefferson can't manage a game or distribute the ball consistently.

It's a three team race even if Cam stays. Auburn loses their OL, and their best pass rusher.

I'd say it will come down to the last game of the year between LSU and Arkansas. In Baton Rouge.

Had Alabama been that healthy all season then I could see them being 13-0 and headed towards Glendale. Alabama looked very impressive yesterday.

I never said Auburn won because Newton raped you. They won because they have a better team, which was to the point of the OP. The raping that Cam gave yall in the second half was just part of the festivities.

And I hate Auburn and Cam, so no bias.

The 2nd half is where games are won. Auburn definitely deserved to win. Anyone can come out hot in the first half, but the 2nd half is when you are more relaxed, you know what the other team is bringing, you are used to the crowd and it is man to man football time. When you can come back down 24 on the road in a 100,000 seat stadium against your most hated rival who is the defending national champs, preseason #1, with the pressure of the national title on the line, yea you fricking deserved to win.

I don't think "health" had anything to do with it. Even in yesterday's game, Ingram ended up leaving with a high ankle sprain, and Julio limped off after sliding down late, never to return.

They came out motivated, were aggressive on offense and defense, and the coaching staff didn't call off the dogs until halfway through the third quarter...a formula that could have won us at least two more regular season games.
