That would be crazy if either Army or Navy was the selection as the one G5 participant in the playoffs. The playoff’s proposed idea is that the first round of the 24 team playoff games would start the week after the regular season ends, but army vs navy is played two weeks after the season ends. In this hypothetical, would the selected Army or Navy decline to play the mid-December game against their traditional rival? Would they skip a year - that game was played throughout WWII? Would they play the first round and if they lose the playoff game go ahead the next week with the Army/Navy game, or would they play the first round and if they win the playoff game keep pushing the Army/Navy game a week later and a week later? Fun to talk about.

They used to play on conference championship weekend until 2 years ago. Back in the 70s they played Thanksgiving weekend like everyone else
