Yep, Tallahassee...been there, done that.

But why is this so? It's fixable right. Pour me another bourbon.

It's not; the last time I was in Baton Rouge, the second bar I visited had big gulps of lean on special and a vending machine that sold crack in addition to menthols.

Who would want to raise their kids in such an environment?

All of your assertions are suspect

I’m not being a dick. Baton Rouge is only good if you can afford Highland RD and private schools. BR has grown significantly over the last 30 yrs and with it left the country city charm behind.

If you try to raise a child in Baton Rouge there is a chance one of the new coaches may let his monkey loose , and no one is safe.

The issue is the kind of growth and where it's come from.

And BR Leadership

And Governor

I’ve lived in quite a few, been to most, they’re all basically the same with the same problems. This is like when SEC fans argue about which fan base has more rednecks
Baton Rouge is a real shithole. Memphis, Montgomery, and Atlanta are real shitholes too. Congratulations.

Just don’t go to north Baton Rouge. They have plenty of nice areas to live in Baton Rouge.

How many murders have happened in the last few years in BR?

To be fair, most of the murders happening in the city aren’t happening to the school aged children of millionaires

I just find it funny when posters, most of whom live in or around these many shithole cities all over the South, try to single out one individually as if coaches would live anywhere near what makes these cities shitholes. Just an observation.

However, I’ll say one thing nobody talks about regarding Florida being a good job. No state income taxes. Same thing with Texas, Tennessee, etc. when your contract has 8 maybe 9 figures at this rate, that would be pretty important to consider to me.

Hell, Saban prefers living in North GA.

Boosters got him the home in Tuscaloosa, he didn't buy that.

Money don't care about shitty cities.

There aren't any SEC teams in those cities. Norman isn't on of those cities either. Baton Rouge would be last on the list of any SEC city to live in easily and pretty much any college town in America. It's a crime ridden shithole. Your equivalence is bullshite. It is worse.

I agree. When I was a boy the Bon Marche area was the place families hung out. By the time I was in high school gangs had taken the area over and Cortana was the family hang out. By the time I graduated high school in 92 Cortana was being taken over and BlueBinnet became the go to area. The Higland area leading up to campus is beautiful but not many can afford it. I lived in middle Tennessee for a little while and other than I think Davidson county the schools are well kept and the towns are really quaint good places to raise a family. It’s a shame Louisiana cannot do the same.

I take it you’ve never been to these cities or traveled 2 miles outside campus in some of our “college towns”? You think Nashville is safe? Columbia? Austin? Yeah, if you can afford to buy a house in the good part of town or live in the suburbs just like everywhere else

I would bet my inheritance I've traveled more than you.
