Do yall realize that over the past 20 years Wake Forest has been a more successful football program than UNC and UVA? Unc has not won an ACC conf title since 1980!
Also, Those schools are a terrible culture fit for the SEC

Basketball makes the 2nd most money of any college sport. So clearly a ton do. Sorry your team is terrible at it.

Woke? No thanks. The Sec does not need that crap
I've never seen so much get off my lawn in 1 thread

It’s not really about what I want. Just what I think will happen. I just think the major media outlets want two big conferences. And everything seems to be trending that way.

If DUKE is a requirement then EFF to the NO.

Good. Can we kick out Missouri then?

These are pretty even divisions.

Why do ypu hate Duke? Not a Texas rival. Just wondering.

I think the SEC and Big 10 teams are pretty safe. You could see someone trying to squeeze Vandy or Miss State out, but the other SEC schools wouldn't allow that. Not quite as sure that Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State would protect, say, Rutgers or Maryland.
It gets interesting with the Big 12 and ACC; I think half the ACC could be on the chopping block. Clemson, Florida State, Miami and some other schools have prospects, and Notre Dame's affiliation with them might come into play too. Big 12 is full of team that could be either way- ain't bad, ain't great.
I could see both the SEC and Big 10 absorb a few from each conference, and then have a playoff where they meet for the title. SEC takes say Clemson, UNC, Fla State and then maybe a few of the Big 12 (stretching out to Arizona or ASU), and the Big 10 takes UVA, Duke, maybe Stanford, and then Colorado. And of course Notre Dame.

I love how nobody seems to think the BIG would be interested in grabbing GT and planting their flag the Atlanta/Georgia market.
Recruiting toehold in the South
Easy roadtrip from anywhere (can ride marta to the stadium from the airport)
Huge BIG alumni base in Atlanta
Excellent academics (AAU)
7th largest TV market in the country
I think BIG goes after UNC, UVA, GT, and Miami eventually….

What does this have to do with adding schools to a fb conference? It sure hasn’t helped them beat VT in the ACC

Bring them in and send the yankee school from CoHomo to the Big 10

I think up to now, too, the Big10 and SEC have been aligned with networks in consolidation because it reduces competition. If Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon, USC, etc get into the playoffs now, they’re not doing it from a competitor conference.
I really think damaging the big 12 and killing the pac 12 was just part of the goal. I do wonder where that ends though and if they want to kill the acc bad enough to add the top acc schools.
My guess is the networks would like one or two conferences full of power teams they pay top dollar to and a second tier of schools possibly competing on a different level they’re paying less money too. And like you say, the SEC and Big10 might want to protect all their current programs.

It’s funny looking back now how adamant Jim Delaney was that a merger of a few Big12 programs with the Pac12 not happen. After the Big12 was picked apart and he got Nebraska he was worried the Pac12 would pick up 4 major programs and be a new problem to deal with.
Everything that happened in that round was set up to ultimately kill the pac12.

I agree with all but this. I think 2 non conference games so we get to play big games vs other teams..the 2 non conference games must be
12-game schedule. Play all 9 teams in your division plus 2 from the other. One OOC game and no Div 2 games allowed.
