It's the best public school in the nation, which is why they'd probably turn down the SEC and court the B1G.

Baseball and basketball is decent.

Grab Kansas & North Carolina. The two basketball titans. Kansas also just completed phase 1 of a 600M renovation project. Overhauling their football stadium. They also have one of the strongest trio’s of men’s sports head coaches in the country. It would also piss off mizzou.

I think the move to the SEC would help UNC football recruit a little better with the SEC power behind it.

Kansas is a BIG school through and through IMO. They will head there next.

Grab UNC + VA. Gets the remaining premiere state schools left on the board.

FL st is probably no.3

Then last spot goes to Clemson/VaTech/Miami. Clemson is not really a strong candidate. They can always turn back to irrelevancy. VaTech is a literal who outside VA. Miami is Miami, small school.

Yeah, Kansas is AAU. Making them a likely target for the BIG. Kansas has primarily played their ball in the Southwest for the last three decades. I don’t think a move to a conference with Mizzou, Arkansas, OU, Texas, A&M, LSU, Mississippi, etc. Is that jarring. I think Virginia does have more football potential with an SEC move.

That would be a huge get tbh

UNC is probably the one school right now that could get a hassle-free SEC invite.

The added geography and revenue makes too much sense.

I just hope the SEC never goes up into Virginia. It starts to get too political at that point, and the cultural fit is just not there anymore.

Having lived in the Triangle area on NC (albeit years ago), culturally, NC State is a MUCH better fit with the SEC than UNC.

That may well be but North Carolina basketball is Top Tier..SEC will be drawn to their ratings for sure. Plus they have a good market.

Plus UNC is the flagship program with the much bigger brand which translates to more money.

Texas has its problems with the liberals but the people who run the school, board, and state are all conservative and will be for the foreseeable future. Once they took control we somehow magically ended up in the SEC, that wasnt a coincidence. It was dark days before that with Greg Fenves though.

UVA is most certainly run by a combo of nutjob marxists and deep state rinos. We dont want them at the voting table during stuff like Covid.

Speaking of Covid, theres a very real possibility UNC was directly involved in its development and spread.

If you liked the Texas liberals, just WAIT until you deal with the Chapel Hill Liberals...

we add more schools we better force a renegotiation of our TV contract because we got fricked compared to the Big 10 last time.

Not with Snakey in charge. He already brought in tu and ou and the other schools got nothing extra.

UVA needs to keep its yankee arse out of the SEC.
So you want their money to go to the b1g instead of the SEC? Help me understand that.

VT is culturally the SEC
Why do people keep talking about "culture." Or football scores? Or athletic dept success? None of that is part of the equation. MONEY is driving the bus right now.

People keep crying about it but it's the state of athletics right now.

VT is the top football program in the state of Virginia and DC with by far the most fans. VT has 10,000 more students and they're alumni are down to earth, wealthier and more successful than UVA. VT is the best public STEM school on the east cast. UVA is a better school for transgender studies.
UVA's endowment is about 10 times what VA techs is. The 2 schools are not in the same universe
