You understand that the casinos don't need certain teams to win in order to make money, right? Casinos make money because they aren't gambling. As long as the amounts bet on both teams in any given game are roughly equal, which they ensure is the case by manipulating the spreads, the casinos win no matter how the actual game turns out.

I honestly don’t think the league or refs intentionally try to help teams with calls. It doesn’t happen IMO. Sometimes refs just make bad calls… it happens.
