Look up %of wins in the first 5 years of Bryant vrs the first 5 years of Saban. What you got?

Something that a lot of older Alabama fans are going to have to come to grips with sooner than later.

Kap, supposedly LSU will hire Adam Henry as WR coach. He is currently the Raiders TE coach. Know anything about him?

Holy chit I just noticed that the last 4 yrs Saban is 48-6, in 1960-1964 Bryant was 48-6. It was 5 years but they played fewer games back then. Talk about history repeating itself.

Bryant won 6 NC's. I don't know if Saban can do it but he may be the only one in the next 50 years to give it a shot. Bryant won 5 SEC Champ's in the decade of the 70's, 13 SECC's in all. I don't think its even possible to win 10 SECC's now let alone 13. If you ever really wonder who the greatest of all time was that should leave you no doubt anymore.

Absolutely nothing. I have tried not to pay much attention the last several years. It gives me ulcers. Hoping that is gonna change with al Davis passing and the actual use of a GM for the first time in eleventy millatron years.

Coach Bryant is the GOAT for sure. But in terms of national titles, I think Saban has the ability to get there and possibly in fewer years which would be an amazing feat itself just for the fact that its even harder to do it so consistently now with scholarship limitations and conferences splitting earnings evenly among teams helping teams to better their facilities and such.

If he doesn't catch Coach Bryant in NC's it's still totally possible for him to get to the number 2 spot which would give Alabama the 2 greatest coaches of all time.

But this is all speculation. He could leave tomorrow, but I think it's more possible than you might think.

And my definition of dominated is winning the SEC anywhere from 3 in a row to 4 out of 7. 5 out of 8 being magical.

5 out of 8 will never happen, imo. Bryant had 5 out of 10 in the 70's. Won 4 in 6 years 1961-1966. We only had 10 teams back then though. I don't see how you could do it now. Saban won 3 SEC's in 7yrs at 2 different schools but only if you take out 2 yrs at Miami.

How many more years will Saban stay? Lets say he stays another 10 which will make him 70. He would have to win 3 more in 10 years to catch Bryant. If it was anyone else it would be just a pipe dream but he's got all of Bama believing maybe. As far as top coaches go, don't forget Wallace Wade (won 3 at Bama) who I believe would make it 3 in the top 5 coaches or so of all time. CWW almost won NC at Duke a couple of times after he left Bama.

From the Modern Football Era(the BCS)the PAC has won 12 vs 11 SEC.
Also one can see the PAC is 14-8-1 against the spread vs the SEC.
Head2head- The SEC has been hardly superior to the PAC.

From 1970-1979 Bear Bryant won 8 SEC titles at Bama. Auburn has 7 SEC titles in their history. Think about that for a second, because Auburn's a top 15 program all time.

Alabama won 5 in a row from 71-75, and Florida won 4 in a row from 93-96. Nobody's gonna do that anytime soon, if that's what you mean by dominate.

Damn you are right. I thought it was 5 in 10 yrs of the 70's but its 8 out of 10 yrs. That might never be approached again much less tied or beat it. I would define dominance as 1/2 or better of an 6-10yr period.

Florida did dominate the SEC in the mid-90s. That much is true. Had you not herp derped it in '97 you would have matched the five straight SEC titles Alabama won under Bryant from 1971-1975.

Losing to LSU and UGA that year sucked, but not as bad as losing to UT the year after. It was the Only SEC loss we had....and it was by 3 points IN Tennessee.

Absolutely. Coach Spurrier was the best coach in CFB during the 90's. I remember thinking we had to beat him to win the SEC and NC. And I always thought odds would be against it. In 92' Florida was having an off year but they still almost beat us in the first SECCG and we were undefeated.
