Robot: Pretty much nailed it. He has all of Bobby's terrible tendencies without the upside. I'll give him this. He does TRY to manufacture runs... something that Bobby failed to even comprehend. Not well executed or planned but its honestly only half his fault because we couldn't hit water if we fell out of a boat when it counts.

He tries too hard though. He tries so hard that he calls for a fricking suicide squeeze with no outs.
He had Miguel Cabrera bunt when he was with the Marlins.
He benches Heyward.
He brought Scott Proctor into games constantly last season, and appears to be primed to do the same with Livan or Durbin this year.
All in all, he's a horrible manager who doesn't have the first clue about how to use his middle relievers or his bench.

Our starting pitchers are all now conditioned to get out of the game after 5 innings at most. Thats not entirely his fault but I'd honestly tell the starters frick it. In April we aren't pulling you out until after the sixth inning period. Doesn't matter what is happening. You don't win or lose the season this early... time to get those guys retrained. 100 pitch count limits are for pussies.
Benching Heyward was actually ok last season. Costanza was killing it. I was actually more pissed about not leaving Costanza in after his ankle healed last season. He was clearly more effective. I think this year we just need to be all in on Heyward regardless. If the dude doesn't work out we're pretty boned anyways.
Livan. Ugh. I guess I'm only happy that he's on our roster so that he doesn't abuse us with his 43 mile an hour fastball. How did we lose to that guy pretty much regularly?

Well, we are avoiding Gallardo and Grienke, so that's good.
They are still sending two lefties out there though. Wolf and Narveson aren't anything special, but they are still left handed, which means they will probably look like Sandy Koufax against us.
I would be really happy with taking 2 of 3.
