Lol. You forget he was gifted at least one he didn't deserve. USC and Bama split the titles when both finished with one loss - Bama's was to USC!
They are/were great coaches. You can't compare guys across eras. Obviously Saban is better, because mankind has advanced in half a century. There are 500 coaches today who are better than Bear, just as, in 40 years, there will be hundreds of coaches better than Saban. We stand on the shoulders of giants. That's why I'm a better engineer than Edison.

I'm pretty sure Edison would have started Apple or Google. And guys like him and Bryant would be great in any era. They would have learned what won and dominated whatever that was.
