You mean we couldn't run against the Bama defense in practice? Nobody is gonna run on that defense bro.

I fully understand that and I guess I didn't explain my thoughts fully enough.

Practicing against the best defense in the nation should have at least prepared them well enough to be able to establish the run against the likes of freaking WKU.

But IIRC, we weren't even able to run much during pre season scrimmages.

No shite. They were trying to run against our defense.

Running against a brick wall doesn't really help you prepare.

I don't think our running game struggles were the result of some plan. I think we're struggling to get the OL to gel. And false start and holding penalties kill a running game worse than the passing game.

We need a running game against Ole Miss. That is the key to beating them - they don't have depth on defense and their offense can't keep them off the field. Ole Miss has an excellent starting 11 on defense but we have to wear them down.

It was good to see Shank back to his usual "false start" form.

Very first play he was back in.

Never thought I would see Saban trust Kiffin or his qb enough for a true freshman to have 36 pass attempts.

If BAMA can't play power football, and relies on this much passing, it will cost them at least one game this year, ala Ohio state in 14, and ole miss last year.

Pass heavy plan Should help BAMA against ole miss this year from what I've seen so far. Moving forward, BAMA needs to establish power run.

Literally the exact same thing we've done the past 3 seasons in game 2 with a new QB. Not surprising at all.
