He and Mrs. Terry visit a good bit, and have throughout the years.

They have a lot of friends here.

Explains why Saban left Bama to go to LSU both times the LSU job opened up.

He had multiple opportunities to leave Alabama for LSU and never did.

Weird, huh?

Lane Kiffin revealed that Nick Saban advised him to take the LSU head coaching job, calling it the "best job in America" and telling him he would regret not taking it

sure he does question what if. He knows he had things rolling and only going up. In saying that he probably doesn’t regret his decisions, he probably just doesnt like the way things went for the school that gave him his spring board.

Of course he does, as does everyone when it comes to CFB.

But I still believe that if he had stayed, he would have won maybe 2 more NCs, and that's it.

He definitely wouldn't have had a dynastic run like he did at Bama.

Going to Miami changed him as a coach. It was the first time he failed at what he set out to do, and it triggered in him some honest self-reflection and soul searching.

He learned from that failure and the changes he implemented to his coaching philosophy and style created his final form.

Basically, Miami helped him finish the design of "The Process".

We didn't offer.

First time he showed up to the interview without a binder. BIG MISTAKE.

Second time he told knew he was about to retire and didn't want to burn us unexpectedly, leaving us scrambling for a coach only to hire a program killer.

Still can't believe that there was no transition plan in place for his retirement. Or that he didn't even give Bama one more season to try and make one.

Looks like he cares more about the future of LSU than he did about the future of Alabama.

Nick and Jimmy Sexton were in Baton Rouge paving the way for lsu to hire lane the week before lane was hired. Fact.

Is there any other Sport besides football that Alabama has more accolades in than LSU does?

Gymnastics? Softball? Maybe those.

Anything else?

ETA: Alabama has 28 NCs. 18 are football (debatable) the other 10 are 2 in men's golf, 6 gymnastics, 1 softball and 1 women's golf.

So, gymnastics and softball.

LSU has 53 NCs. It's easier to copy and paste them:

Football: 4 (1958, 2003, 2007, 2019)
Baseball: 8 (1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2009, 2023, 2025)
Women's Basketball: 1 (2023)
Gymnastics: 1 (2024)
Men's Golf: 5 (1940, 1942, 1947, 1955, 2015)
Men's Indoor Track & Field: 2 (2001, 2004)
Men's Outdoor Track & Field: 5 (1933, 1989, 1990, 2002, 2021)
Women's Indoor Track & Field: 11 (1987-1997, 2002-2004)
Women's Outdoor Track & Field: 14 (1987-1997, 2000, 2003, 2008, 2012 - vacated)
Boxing: 1 (1949)
Men's Basketball: 1 (1935)

And then there's men's basketball. Alabama has been to 1 Final Four while LSU has 4 appearances.

So congratulations Gumps: you can talk down to us in 3 sports.
