The state of Alabama dominates the SEC again.

3. Auburn
4. Alabama
5. LSU
9. Arkansas

Missing: Any SEC East team.

We had Moreno and Gurley as first rounders, but other than that the last 15 years have been pretty lean with drafted UGA RBs. Musa Smith drafted in the 3rd. Thomas Brown in the 6th. Verron Haynes in the 5th.

This doesn't really bother me. I mean it's great seeing former players do well at the next level, but the only thing I actually care about is what they do here. If they don't get drafted high or are busts in the NFL...oh well. Doesnt' really affect me or UGA.

Oddly enough, all of the RB's mentioned in the article are not from the state of Al.
Bama:
Trent Richardson- Fl.
Mark Ingram- NJ
Eddie Lacy- La.

Auburn:
Ronnie Brown- Ga.
Ben Tate- Md.
Tre Mason- Fl.

Mark Ingram- NJ
When I read this, I thought... Wut?

Mark Ingram attended high school and was drafted by Alabama from Flint, Michigan. He may have been born in NJ, but Flint, Mich. claims him.

quote:

FLINT, Michigan — Mark Ingram Jr. has been interviewed by David Letterman, featured on the TODAY show and even met President Barack Obama at the White House.
But he said there was nothing like coming home to Flint Saturday for the first time since winning a national college football championship with the University of Alabama in January and the Heisman Trophy in December.

“I’ve been celebrated and honored in lots of places, but it’s more special to me to be honored at home,” said Ingram, a Flint native who played football at Grand Blanc High School and Flint’s Southwestern Academy.

“It feels good to be home, I’ll tell you that much.”

And the city loved having him home. LINK

Flint will be honored Saturday at Atwood Stadium.FLINT, Michigan -- The bleachers are beginning to fill in Atwood Stadium as about 200 Mark Ingram Jr. fans await to hear from the 2009 Heisman Trophy winner and Flint native.
Flint Southwestern Academy sophomores Fred Moore, 16, and Chris Sanders, 15, already saw the football star Friday when he spoke at one of his former schools.

"It makes me want to get out and do more, get out into the community," Moore said.

The school retired Ingram's jersey during the special ceremony Friday, Sanders said. LINK

The OP was bragging about how the state of Al. is dominating the SEC again.

I was just pointing out that he and all of the others were not from the state of Al.

When talking about which states produce the most talent, the state they played their High School football is what is normally used to make that determination.

He failed. It's O.K. It happens about every ten seconds on this site.

McFadden is injury prone, Felix Jones didn't live up to the hype, and Hillis suffered from the Madden curse.

First-round picks past 15 years: 2

Shouldn't 15 years include Shaun Alexander? He was drafted in 2000. That would be 3 in the top round.

Damn I feel old now, 15 years ago..

So you're saying all of those running backs were drafted out of high school, eh?

Interdasting...

did you read the title of the thread, or click the link to the article?

title of 'Running Back U'

U, as in, University. A college. Not the state in which teenagers attend high school before going to college before going to the NFL.

And you just reset the counter, congrats.

I think a mildly-retarded person should be able to comprehend what I was "saying".

Bless your heart.

I read the article and I was just pointing out that the High School they attended is what is normally used to make that determination. Sorry, I have to explain it to you like you are three years old.
