Petrino's Louisville is a pro-style?

Spread offenses are gimmick offenses now?

I like my gimmick offense QB we drafted

There is a difference between spread teams and HS smoke and mirror read option gimmick offenses.

DGB has only played in a spread.

Petrino has always ran a pro style offense as far as I know.

His offense has many pro-style elements in the passing game, mainly the route trees for WRs/QB.

Add a WR to my gimmick offense draft picks I like

He didn't play anywhere last year, so...

Which will not effect his chances in the NFL for his position.
Outside of WR, there seems to be many questions for NFL teams in regards to spread players, especially those offenses where there are not reads, audibles, etc made by the QB, everything is determined by the HC/OC pre snap.

OP has been spending to much time with ESPN on and ESPN radio. List the number of pro style NFL teams. Even that is outdated.
The issue is that NFL teams hate having to train QB's that come into the NFL not having learned how to read coverages and don't make reads. Hence the frustration over the #2 QB in the draft and why St. Louis took the kid from Oregon State instead of the kid from UCLA.

They can both beat Arkansas.

Even spread WRs don't seem to be being drafted as often recently, was surprised Goodley from Baylor wasn't drafted. I'm pretty sure he was the leading WR in college two years ago statistically.

With the right measurables, it doesn't matter what offense a WR played in, outside of a run option offense.
Now the midget WRs who compile huge stats from YAC from bubble screens, yeah, tney are not in huge demand during the draft, but many have found roster spots in the NFL.

What's lost in this is the fact that lesser teams have gone to the spread because they don't have the best players.

Did blake sims get drafted?

Most pro-style offenses use spread concepts, like Alabama did in the SEC Championship Game (you know, the very first drive when they used Auburn's playbook). Spread offenses, like Auburn, line up under center on occasion and run plays through that.
