Do you think it was a mistake by AJ not to go to the SR Bowl? I think it might be and looks like he got some bad advice possibly. Outside looking in it appears he thought he was protecting a late 1st round to early 2nd round selection.

For the record. I think AJ is a good guy and great competitor.

Life is about choices. AJ will have to live with that choice.

What can a trip to the Senior Bowl do? Jimmy Garoppolo is living proof.

Jimmy Garoppolo took AJ McCarron's spot in the SR Bowl and he just got selected ahead of him.

That's gotta hurt. Wonder if AJ even realizes that. Probably not.

I think it definitely hurt. Any time you can make contacts and prove yourself, I think you have to do it. In any job setting. Pro football is no different.

I think AJ is just not as athletic as these other guys being drafted. Nothing against him other than that - and many teams just don't need a QB.

SEC Sports ?@SEC · 11s
Seven #SEC players drafted in the second round of the 2014 #NFL Draft. Brings total to 18 #SEC players drafted through first two rounds.

I think the advice he might've got was it would hurt stock against live bullets so to speak in the game

His agent (stupidly) likely told him he could prove his worth at the Combine and Pro Days

His BS this last 2 nonths haven't helped either

I think it was the way he did it, too. If he was injured he should have said that he was nursing an injury. Instead of coming out with this "I shouldn't have to compete at the Senior Bowl. I've done enough." Came across as arrogant IMO.

2nd round complete.

Texas pass on a QB, draft a TE for Mallett to toss the ball too...

There is a reason why NE wants to hold on too him and why O'Brian and others want him.

If NE wanted to hang on to him they would not have drafted Garappalo. At best he's trade bait for a low rounder

I think that's a sure thing now. I can't remember the last time the Patriots took a QB this high.
