I think they’d be crazy to pass on high freeze. Second choice would be James franklin

The issue Tennessee has is it's not an overly desirable job. They have one of the most difficult schedules every year and will never be able to out recruit UGA, Bama, and UF. Throw in recruiting against Clemson as well.
Pruitt was their 10th choice I believe. There are so many things outside of their control that I don't think a big name guy will go there.

To get a good coach they need to pay one 15 mil a year. They are poor so that’s not happening

Pruitt is a good defensive coach.
He just needs a good OC and better recruiting.

Franklin has a good job and it's where he wants to be. Freeze has a good paying one but he's said in the past Tennessee is where he wants to be. I think it's Freeze or bust at this point. And what I mean is if Freeze is available and truly wants the job you fire Pruitt and hire Freeze but if not, you think harder about retaining Pruitt for at least another season. One third rate coach is as good as the next.
