Texas is in the SEC. With the conclusion of baseball, softball, track and field, and all other sports for the 2023-24 season, the Longhorns and the Big 12 are no more. As the Horns prepare to make their new conference their home, quite a few teams that have already been in the SEC have quite the rivalry with Texas. From former Southwest Conference rivals the Arkansas Razorbacks to in-state enemies the Texas A&M Aggies, the Longhorns are about to go head-to-head with some of their most bitter adversaries. If the Horns had it their way, maybe a few of the teams in the SEC would be kicked out to clear the way for Texas' entrance into the conference. Which five teams would the Longhorns kick out of the SEC if they had the power to do so?

1. Georgia. "The Bulldogs have quite literally been unbeatable in recent history, as Georgia has gone undefeated in the regular season over the last three years. Kirby Smart has made an absolute monster out of the Bulldogs' football program. While Texas may be able to go toe-to-toe with UGA, it sure would make the Longhorns' lives easier if the Bulldogs weren't in their conference anymore."

2. Alabama "Despite not sharing a conference, since the Crimson Tide upset the Longhorns in the 2009 National Championship game (where they hurt the Horns' beloved quarterback Colt McCoy), (if only Colt hadn't gotten hurt...) Texas and Alabama have been at each others' throats. Texas defeated the Tide at home in the two teams' most recent matchup but, man, would it be sweet for them to no longer rule the SEC."

3. Arkansas "When the Texas Longhorns and Arkansas Razorbacks shared a home base in the Southwest Conference, the two teams were bitter rivals. Over the 79 matchups between the programs, Texas has dominated, winning 56 of the games. (All time record, save me). While the Longhorns might hold the upper hand on the past, most recently, Arkansas trounced the Horns in a non-conference matchup."

4. A&M (hard to believe they had us this far down the list) "The rivalry to end all rivalries. Texas A&M has surprisingly, and unfortunately, risen back to power right as the Longhorns are joining their conference. The Aggies and the Longhorns have always hated each other, and while the rivalry is infamous and unmatched, it would be infinitely easier if Texas A&M wasn't in the SEC anymore. Maybe, the two teams could just see each other in non-conference matchups, or on holidays, before SEC play actually begins each year."

5. OU The Longhorns have played against the Sooners more times than any other team in the nation (119 games). Texas has eked out a winning record over Oklahoma, currently holding 63 wins over the Sooners' heads and OU can only lay claim to 51 victories. (All time record, save me again!) The Red River Rivalry is one of the greatest rivalries in sports, much less college football, but it doesn't have to be a conference rivalry.
