I saw an article that said the kid was a walk-on. He didn't get NIL when he walked on, but he is making up for it now. Good for him. Anything that weakens the NY Times makes the USA stronger.

What would you have easily charged him with, Luc?

Too much Bama?

Under Alabama’s complicity law, you do not have to pull the trigger or physically kill the person to be convicted of murder. Intentionally helping or providing a weapon/means to commit the act. Because you share legal accountability, an accomplice to murder faces a Class A felony charge, punishable by 10 years to life in prison, or a capital murder charge if aggravating factors apply (carrying potential death or life-without-parole sentences).

A district attorney can indict a ham sandwich if he wants to. It's an extremely low bar. If Brandon Miller was John Smith, he'd probably be behind bars right now.

I've never heard of the kid. Glad they are holding people accountable but that award is insane

I read Miller's account and yes it clears Kai. Not like anyone cared about him

It still spells out Oats needs to get his program under control.

You’re confusing Brandon Miller with Darius Miles.

Miles was kicked off the basketball team initially and is still sitting in prison awaiting trial because of alleged complicity.

And he didn’t murder anyone either.

Message boards don’t indict rival players. Real legal systems do. Stop believing conspiracies that a news outlet pushed for ratings.

It's always amusing when random posters on tRant think they know more than the actual DA involved in the case.

quote:

Asked by AL.com why Miller was not charged, Tuscaloosa chief deputy D.A. Paula Whitley said, “That’s not a question I can answer. There’s nothing we could charge him with,’’ according to the law, she said.

Why wasn’t Brandon Miller charged?

Maybe he can wait until right before the season and retire, so we're forced to hire his son.

This was the first time in over 50 years that the NYT had lost a defamation case.

I'm a member of that "real legal system" and I'm telling you they could have indicted him if they wanted to. The reason they did not is obvious. Oats had him on a plane to South Carolina the following day. No suspension. No investigation. No nothing.
