Assuming the favorites win this weekend (which for most games it isn't much of a stretch) it looks like the At Large teams will be LSU, Michigan, UCF, and Florida. Obviously they will not pair Florida with LSU sending one to the Peach and the other to the Fiesta. How much do y'all think the Committee will take into account these three things:

1. LSU and Michigan have never played each other in 125+ years of college football.
2. Michigan and UF opened the season against each other just last season and then played each other in a bowl game the season before that, meaning they would have played each other 3 years in a row should they be paired together again.
3. UF against UCF is easily the best matchup for UCF given its an instate game that adds more intrigue than any other opponent UCF could face.

If that all goes according to plan it probably should be UF/UCF and LSU/Michigan in either of the remaining At Large bowls. Does anyone think it may shake out for different reasons (assuming that all the favorites win and not much chaos happens)?

You're forgetting Georgia and Texas as well.

Georgia will be in the Sugar with a loss and playing against Texas.

No they would not be at larges. Texas is only in if they're the Big 12s representative to the Sugar and UGA if they lose will be the SECs representative. Also this scenario assumes an OU win as a loss would push them into the At Large pool and change which teams are in. My question is only in the scenario OU, Alabama, and Ohio State all win.

Again wrong. Texas is only 2 spots ahead of WVU. If they lose they will most likely drop behind them especially considering they have a head to head loss against them. Even though its a conference championship game loss I think they still drop. They'd basically have to hold completely still not to.

UF is in the peach bowl unless uga end up in the playoffs, in which case UF would move into the sugar bowl, if UCF wins they’ll be in the Fiesta Bowl cause they was in the peach last year.

It will be whatever the worse possible outcome towards Lsu. It's all a conspiracy.

What's keeping UF out of the Fiesta bowl?

I agree, would love for the Gators to shut up the directional college from Orlando.

For one of the hundreds of reasons I want my Dawgs to win is that it would be glorious to see Bama play UCF somehow, just to shut those smug frickers up.

Big 12 doesn't do it like the SEC. The Big 12 runner up now goes to the Sugar Bowl if the winner goes to the CFP.

It's dumb, but true.

There's 0 chance Bama plays UCF this year, especially in the event of a UGA win. At worst, we'd be in the Sugar, but I'd still bet on us taking that #4 spot. UCF is almost a lock for the Fiesta from everything I've read.

The only way it could ever happen is if Georgia, Ohio State, and Oklahoma all lose this weekend and UCF wins big. Even then, it's a huge long shot.

OHHHHHH

Gotcha

So Sugar will be UGA vs Texas due to Tie In.

Now I see it.

Would you think Wazzu gets a look?

Big 12 puts their runner up in the NY6 bowl if not in the playoff.

I think Bama, UGA, LSU, and UF would all shut them up.

I'd prefer we meet Michigan in the Fiesta because LSU/UM has better story lines, but beating UCF would be ok, too.

WTF? I just found an article citing this but I had no idea the conferences got any say in the matter about that. I thought all of these choices had been ceded to the committee based on their ranking of the teams. I didn't think the SEC had the option as well, either their Champion or the highest rated team by the committee. That's dumb.

That's sad. Louisiana isn't exactly that much closer to Phoenix and y'all have a lot more people and LSU would pack that stadium. Florida has shitty fans.
