You all can mock this post, but almost every one of you would happily accept these new conference realignments in a second. You all bemoan the violation of geographic sanctity, yet shite on an excellent reorientation of the current conferences.

The “sources” part of my post was an apodictic joke. Glad the great sophisticates on this forum uncovered that for the rest of us. Bravo.

You have over 5,000 posts since 2021. Many of them stupid. My post is a good faith attempt at preserving the geographic sanctity of the chief topic of this website (college football).

You really want to discuss the squandering of time on online forums?

So they make the Big10 tough division tougher and the easy division easier.

This type of change is going to happen.

The programs that actually make money will just leave the ncaa. While the programs that do not profit off of athletics will remain with the ncaa.

As far as what you have listed….there is only one truly unbelievable part: Mizzou leaving the SEC. No one is leaving the SEC. Too much money.

Doubtful that USC and UCLA stay in the PAC as well. Other than that something along those lines is coming...t

I know it is not a popular sentiment and they do indeed suck arse and are not the least bit interested in doing anything other than suck arse but somehow someway Georgia Tech needss to stay the frick out of the big 10. Short of a conference luring Notre Dame to join accessing Atlanta recruiting and TV is about as big a prize as there is on the table. GT is more akin to a big 10 program and having big 10 games on TV in Atlanta and big 10 schools spending even more time harvesting talent from Atlanta is a bad idea for everyone but the big 10.

Agreed.

Unfortunately that's where it's going. We are going to sacrifice our identity and history at the altar of the conference TV deal.

Done did it. The ACC is baked...and the PAC 12 is in worse shape. There is little doubt in my mind that the ACC is around until 2036 or whatever year their current situation ends...its just too much money and too much power.

This would be awesome. I wish we could kick out Texas A&M and Missouri and add back GA Tech and Tulane.

Would be FAR better than either winding up in the big 10. At this point being competitive in conference is meaningless...keeping the big 10 as far away from Atlanta and the shite ton of talent in Louisiana is what matters. It'd be a major coupe to keep Louisiana and Atlanta firmly in the SEC foot print and somehow add 2 of Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland...there is an arse load of talent in DC and the DMV...

I get North Carolina and Virginia. Increasing the footprint. But why would we take Tulane back?

SEC - there’s no better road trip in the southeast

Original conference founder

Has shown capacity to win even in a lesser conference

AAU member and top 50 university- academics like vandy with a higher ceiling in football

Well, let’s not get carried away…

Tulane has academics on par with UF, UGA, Texas, Wake, etc.

Vandy is a different league (peers are schools like Duke and Gtown).

New Orleans? I was born in Baton Rouge and went back as an adult for 3 1/2 years. I never cared much for Nawlins. No offense.

That chose to leave.

In the last 20 years Tulane has had 5 winning seasons. Sorry. That does not constitute the "capacity to win"....as for the Lesser conference? That also means y'all struggled against lesser competition. You would be worse than vanderbilt.

I can see academics, but no. You would not have a higher ceiling than Vandy. While it is true you have had more winning seasons than Vanderbilt, you did yours against weaker competition while Vandy has played in the SEC. BIG difference.

For me, personally...the fact y'all opted out of the SEC disqualifies you immediately.

What's your issue with the Wave? They just beat USC in the Cotton Bowl, for frick's sake. Us old timers liked it when we had an in-state rival. They're never going to be a real recruiting threat to LSU. And I would rather see local talent view Tulane as a practical option than our SEC opponents

Not Nicholastiger, but see my post above. Many reasons. Last season was the first good year they have really had. They have had something like 5 winning season in the last 20, and some of those 7-6 type seasons in a bad, BAD conference. Add to that, that they were in the SEC and opted to leave.
There are plenty of reasons to not want Tulane.
