We were aware that O left us with some talent....just didn't realize how much.
And I know we have some good talent here. They're just under-developed and at a risk of losing.

Our freshman class is very talented, sophomore class has a few good ones. We were extremely young this year.

I think this is an understatement. I remember having high hopes for Snead. But other than that no one had a clue how many absolute studs were on the team. They had such a defeatist mentality that no one knew how good they were.
I am in no way saying that we are in the same shape now, but I also don't think it's as bad as it seems. The kids had no heart this year, and the right motivation could make a huge difference. I think the strength and conditioning hire will be the most important hire Freeze makes this year.

This x1000. One reason we got completely dominated last year is because EVERYONE was in much much better shape than we were.

S&C hire is huge- especially for a bunch that has lost that work ethic...Balis was probably the best hire Mullen has made in his 3 years at State
Losing Mullen will suck, but losing Balis will be a killer

It's the truth. Our guys played and looked like they went out to the square every night.
Who was our S&C under Orgeron? A lot of our success in 08-09 might have carried over from him.

I'm sorry......My brain exploded thinking about all the Coonass predictions that turned into nothing.

The only position where I see young talent on Ole Miss is WR/return specialists.

Ole Miss had NEVER lost to a 1-AA school or lost 10 games in one year.
Never can say this again. Thanks HDN.

our skill players have some good talent everywhere but RB. Worried about that position.
LB, CB, and WR will be strong pending injuries, attrition, etc.
Need some RB's to step up bad. Maybe Nick Parker will finally get going with new coaching or maybe someone like Chief Brown will step into the role.

when you get good on the OL and DL again- you will start winning again. Thats where it begins and ends- everything else is just a compliment

Maybe LB and yes on WR. I don't see it in the secondary unless Snoop is CB full time. The safeties are a liability. I only watched your Vandy, LSU, and State games but #25 (Prewitt?) shouldn't be on the field.

Both are tremendously under-developed.
Our OL is pussified thanks to Markuson but fairly deep and experienced(better coaching will help)
Our DL is very young and somewhat thin. CJ bulking up another 20-30 pounds over the summer was a blessing. We're fine in the LB corp but are desperate for DE's. Pretty sure we lost our top-3 DEs from this past season.

Well that's just common knowledge especially with college football. Unless you have a once in a generation type QB.

He's a true Freshman........
As was Golson and Snoop who played a ton.
Frank Crawford and Charles Saywer are good DB's. Brishen Mathews should be back next season(back injury).
But all of this is for none if we lose some of these guys to grades. No one was making sure that our players were going to class. I'd put money on losing 3 of our better/best players for grades. Hope not though...
